Apparently a 'real' quest is a pay-to-play event. reg

Welcome to Greedstone 3, where the greed is in Simu and many of the players themselves

Um...the fact that it costs money wasn't at issue, the fact that it is being touted as "the only real quest" is. I don't think that's a good thing to tell someone new to the game.

Has anyone been on the Black Swan Quest?

Was it fun? I'm debating on if it would be worth going on...

Aerienne reg

If I remember right, the last black swan quest was years ago. From what I heard it was a blast. reg
I did the Black Swan quest, and it was well worth the time, lots of fun just getting in. It started early evening and we went straight though the following morning to complete it.

No spoilers from me, sorry reg

Black Swan was the first pay per event back then, I think.

Some of the puzzles were a blast back then, since large quests with areas weren't so often given during that time, but I wonder if people who go to them today would find them exciting and fun.

Bianca reg

Well, exactly fourteen hours and eleven minutes later... the first group completed the Black Swan quest. I thought it was lots of fun, but whew, I'm NOT a puzzle solver, this was WORK!

It did require lots of teamwork and that worked out well most of the time. There were a couple of little flare-ups, but for the most part, people were very kind and helpful to each other.

I don't want to spoil it for the next group, so I can't say too much. I would like to thank everyone for putting up with my constant chatter, pointing out the obvious to me.... cheers to the healers and clerics that kept us all going, and to the Gemstone staff that worked on this.

It was grand fun!

Yeah, so, work called me in and I missed the whole thing! YAY!

Black Swan! Yay!

- The Klaive who's bottom is not hairy in the least. reg

By the way... I feel that all quests and merchant events should be pay-to-play and premium only. Meaning that only premium could have the option of buying tickets but even they still had to pay.

That would get rid of all the slow basic people with their stinky, dumb 1 type ahead line and insane jealousy when it comes to the matter of premium gift fluff. Also, it would reduce our numbers quite a bit and after the quest, we could all go visit each others' houses.

That'd be fun!

- The Klaive and his wolf cub Ice (She's so cute!) reg

So...did any cheating on this run of Black Swan? That's what turned me off of this particular quest from what happened at Lorminstra and the last Black Swan.

I didn't see any "cheating", or leaking of clues at all. And at about hour eleven I hit the wall, and was reduced to tears and on my knees begging a giant rat for a hint! At that point, I would have given everything I owned for someone to leak something!

At the end of the quest I was really surprised to find out there were a few that had participated before and did know some of the "secrets". They never said a word, or let on at all that they had "been there, done that"!

Summer reg

I bought a ticket, but ended up not going. I might try and get a ticket for a future run though.. sounds like it was a lot of fun. reg
If you missed the entire thing, you can try e-mailing billing and seeing if they can help somehow. I guess it's POSSIBLE (not sure how likely) to get your ticket moved to the next run.

True. It's not a big deal though .. I'm not sure I'd be able to make the next run anyways.
reg

I lost my shield on the black swan castle quest. A black elven-forged shield. I'm not sure if the janitor got it or if it was destroyed, but please keep a look out and let me know. It's a very important item of mine, if anyone has any information or has found it, please contact me at imcnstarz@aol.com or IM me at LordNinny on AIM.

Thanks,

~Nindy
reg

Oh, Nindy! I'm so sorry about your shield! I hope you find it, and I do hope you had fun during the quest. That should take some of the sting out of the loss. <rubs Nindy gently>

Rysh reg

Darn, Nindy... So sorry to hear that you lost your shield! Plenty of people dropped their shields and weapons during our quest, but as far as I know, everything was returned. Did you report your loss to Brauden?

Summer reg

Man that really sucks nindy, I know if I paid all this money for a quest, I'd be really pissed if I lost a nice shield like that. Then again I'd never pay for an event so the point is moot...

I got no dukes. reg

I see colors...I see....brown...all over your nose!

Yeah I know, late response. reg
