Sacrifice

At this moment I am banned from gs, so obviously I haven't played in months shhh, anyways, I hear about this new verb for sorcerers from a couple friends, it sounds cool but I don't really know specifics. I get my sorcerer back in 4 days, but if anyone could inform me of any specifics, would greatly appreciate it.

Sacrifice is a really nice skill available to all sorcerors now. You have to be taught it be a fellow sorceror who already knows it. What it basically does is kills a critter, steals tons of mana, and costs you spirit. It has a very long recovery time so use it wisely. Its also hard to use on things older then you as you have to gain control of them or some such thing. Overall its very very nice in my opinion, and I am quite happy to see it. Its very dark and sinister, reminds me alot of torment, and devastating when it works. Welp...thats all for now...hope that helps a little.
You can also use it on critters after they are dead, and it acts as a verb instead of a skill. Little things like this makes me unable to wait to see what they think of in...oh...a decade or so for guild skills...hehe...

Actually, "sacrifice" as I just read it described above sounds like a component to either demonic summoning or ensorcellment.

Regardless of all the anti-simu pessimism going around, I'd guess ole Romulus is still kicking around in the background somewhere coming up with little bells and whistles for us.. things that will actually be necessary for some awesome Sorcerer stuff but just look really kewl for now.

I am wondering if you fail, is there a time limit til you can use it again, or is that time limit only if you succeed? A friend sent me this earlier, he is a 65 sorcerer.

You focus your inner thoughts, channeling a part of your spirit as you initiate a link with the Sheruvian initiate. You feel drained!

Steeling your thoughts, you begin to draw energy from your victim.
The initiate contorts in agony, its mouth open in a silent scream!

Your senses tingle, then become awash in a flood of power as the life leaves your hapless foe!
The Sheruvian initiate falls to the ground and lies still.
You feel 62 mana surge into you!
Roundtime: 10 sec.

I mean, even if there's a 10 minute or so time limit, that much mana would at least give you an opportunity to finish a hunt. Or help spell up. Or hell, just look really cool!

Anti-Simu? Not really. Pessimist? Oh yeah. I've learned to be. Do you get angry at a kobold for being ugly and rude? No, it's a kobold, it does that. Do you get angry at Simu for missing deadlines? No, it's Simu, it does that.

I'm not convinced that Romulus is even alive aside from SimuCons, much less kicking around. A GM said on the Simu boards that Warden made this thing.

Just toss on a striped shirt and a funny hat, and we can go play a game of "Where's Romulus?"

Peace out. reg

You have to stun your target before sacrifice will work. It takes 1 spirit to teach the skill to another sorcerer, and I seemed to get EXP for teaching it. It takes 1 SP for failure.. 2 SP for a succesful sacrifice. You can get more mana than the creature has apparantly. The wait between is over 15 minutes from what I have seen. Havent tried to time it exactly. Its not a guild skill, but you seem to have to be guild age sorcerer to learn it. And as far as I can tell, as long as your target is stunned, you can sacrifice it. Which means things like stone sentinals and some undead things cant be sacrificed because they cant be stunned. reg
