The next application of MO I am planning is a DS and stance modifier for more than 1 opponent(s) in a room. It applies only to PvC and CvP combat. For every attacker that outnumbers a defender, the defender will lose a fixed DS amount and a stance level. The loss has a lower bound minimum. If a defender has MO skill, it will mitigate the DS loss. So players can affect critter's defenses and vice versa. reg

When I read that I thought to myself 'Wow, what else can we do to screw with the casting professions?'

Seriously.. though it might make sense, I'd rather see changes done based on need not just for the hell of it.

I'm starting to feel sorry for the sorcerors now.. reg

When I read that post I just thought to myself...

Thank God I made my warrior, and thank God Kranar can pick boxes.

This change has the potential to be earth-shattering, however, until we find out what exactly is in store for us regarding the next MO application, it's hard to analyze the situation effectively. As are many GM posts, this short paragraph seems quite vague and mysterious. Will singling in MO be enough to cancel the DS penalty? Will doubling (a possibility for warriors) give you a bonus? I for one am anxious to know the further details, so let's save the whining and complaining until they are discovered.

I think that losing a stance level and some DS because of 1 more critter in the room is a pretty big deal. How many casters (or anyone else besides a warrior) do you know that can actually afford to train in MO without losing 'core' skills?

If it was just a set amount of DS, maybe 5 or 10, I wouldn't mind. But a whole stance level? reg

Good, now a swarm of creatures changes from "look, a quick fry" to "eeek, its a swarm of creatures"...

Sounds good to me.

Plus, its a two way street, group hunting will actually be benificial now... Taking a group of seven people out, and you might be able to tackle something twice your level, again, sounds pretty good to me.

Of course, im a realism freak, so take it with a grain of salt...

50 kobolds kill legend wizard, story at 11. reg
This could give a whole new meaning to the popular expression, "INVASION!!". I can just picture a popular hero getting pummeled by 30 or 40 hill trolls at once.

Again, I have to give GM Ophion realism points for this one. Might be the closest thing to an engagement system we'll see in the lands.

Just have to ask if someone knows approximately when this change will be implemented? Will it be part of Growing Pains Phase III or will it pop up anytime now?

I'd say given Simu's track record it'll be at least a year. That's good though, gives us some leeway to train our characters in advance. reg
