Voln or bust?

04:16 AMi got a 24 year old giantman warrior with:

Currently Stat Bonus
Constitution (CO): 77 .... 23

Strength (ST): 80 .... 30

Aura (AU): 100 .... 20
Mana: 72 Silver: 0

for stats.

with my learning ability and dreams its great, but since i've been in voln, and mastered, i cant seem to get alot of favor.. infact, over one rev is a pain in the ass to get.. so, do you think i should leave voln and goto COL?

i'm a pure ohe mstriker..

I think Zombies is where I would go. And you should beable to get a decent amount of favor from them.

12:25 PMWell, just so you know, symbol of dreams is one of the most expensive Voln symbols, favor-wise. If you're hunting 20-something train creatures to a full head, then resting to clear with Dreams and doing it all over again, it can sometimes be hard to have enough favor to keep using Dreams. I ran into that problem several times while hunting Zombies, especially in a group, because the favor you receive for watching a kill is only a portion of the total favor you would receive if you killed it yourself.

01:00 PMIf you are 24 giantman warrior, you should be hunting corpses atleast. If you can't handle them find a group, hunting zombies at 24 is pretty stupid, especially if you can stance dance. Get some 5-8 enchant hauberk and shield, they should be no problem. reg

04:37 PMWell, if you're asking simply whether you should be in Voln or switch to Council, maybe you shouldn't toss in the other useless fillers about not having enough favor.

Personally, I think the non-numeric (as in, not pertaining to AS/DS/TD, whatever) symbols in Voln far outweigh the benefits of CoL. If you're not having any problems hunting Corpses, then you must not be lacking as far as AS/DS goes, so I would opt for Voln if I were you. I can't count the number of times preservation and need have kept me from decaying, and those are just two of the symbols under Voln's umbrella.

Another thing you failed to address is whether you double in brawling or not. If you have from birth, then you should be quite proficient at Fu by now. According the second phase of Growing Pains, Fu will be made into a viable combat style for higher ages. So you've also got that to think about, assuming you even use Fu.

It all comes down to preference though. Depending on what character/race I'm playing at the time, I might choose a different societety.

11:48 AMThanks alot everyone, i think i've decided to stick with voln for a bit more.. just thinking about how symbol of pres saved me makes me wanna stay heh. Perhaps i'll goto COL if that voln fu isn't so great.. btw, i have doubled for life, and kick corpse's arse's... but the kick/punch/throw at this train is almost worthless, could take out a corpse faster with my mstrike and dagger. Oh well, i'm done rambleing.

10:35 AMHeh, just to update, i left voln and joined COL, i'm loving the madness, and all the other signs. The reason i put that 'usless filter' of not having favor is because at times when i wanted to hunt, if i wanted to use ANY symbols during or after the hunt i would have to hunt undead. the whole point to me bringin it in was that i love huntin minotaurs, but need the extra AS/DS to do it alone, and dont usually have the extra favor.
