Wizard

Hey..I'se thinking of making a giantman wizard..is it possible?
I'm wondering how hard of a time i will have when im young(I doubt it cause of the high weapon as) or if the -5 to dex and other things will be to bad for my wizard..
I'm planning to play the wizard till at least 100..any new guides out there about this or can anyone post some tips?(stat placement...)thanks.. reg
Yes, on being a giantman wizard reg
::wails::
Ye have any ideas for stat placement? I'm clueless.. reg
Yep, giantmen are a good race to choose for real long term viability. In the older years AS/CS and most forms of attack aren't half as important as the ability to survive attacks by critters. This is because of ROI, balance between professions and other problems GS suffers from which basically point to one key skill.

Durability is the key to long term viability.

What that said if you can properly train your giantman such that he is fully doubled in spell aiming and spell training you'll do just fine.

I recommend going to extreme "durability" path thus do the following:

2x spells
2x spell aiming
1x edged
1x shield
1x mana share
1x magic item use
1x scroll reading or first aid
.5x physical training
.2x armor use

Make sure you atleast follow that skillset per training. Then when you get the spare points, go for more armor use, first aid, and combat maneuvers.

Oh, for stat placement, those aren't all that important other than the fact that they determine how many training points you get.

I say you can't go wrong with this:

DI,ST,AU,RE,IN,DE,LO,WI,CH,CO

ROI? : ucks:: reg

Also..are these are good stats for the long run? reg

Hmm..My two posts got split up,was supposed to say:

<<This is because of ROI, balance between professions and other problems GS suffers from which basically point to one key skill.>>
ROI?

..an are these good stats for the long run? reg

I had a wizard that I only played till about 20 trainings or so but he was very fun and would have been very good if I would have played him for a long time. He would have died alot but in the long run would have been one of the better swinging wizards out there. Him training was very limited. The only thing I doubled in was spell aiming and spell research. Then I singled in combat maneuvers, edged weapons, and shield use. Picking up a few trainings of mana share and physical training here and there. In my oppinion he was fun and good, others may view him as not a well trained character, although I would be dodging quite a few boils and shards.(which was one of my whole points of training this wizard and also so that he could swing when he got older)

well kranar, following your stat placement i checked on character trainer and this is what i would have at level 50:
Aura:100
Charisma:57
Constitution:52
Dexterity:80
Discipline:100
Intelligence:100
Logic:83
Reflexes:97
Strength:96
Wisdom:57

That seems a little low for some numbers at 50..tell me if its ok cause of not needed numbers or somethin'... reg

53 PTPs/ 50 MTPs at 50 trainings.

Looks excellent.

This is when your stats would reach 100 if you started with a 0 that stat...

Your stats will reach 100
at the following levels:
Profession: Wizard
Race: Giantman

Constitution: 300
Dexterity: 193
Discipline: 175
Logic: 150
Intelligence: 150
Strength: 300
Reflexes: 248
Charisma: 460
Wisdom: 460
Aura: 150

Now here is a link to a Stat Checker on Amerlise's website. Very good site.
