Giantman wizard?

I've been thinking about creating a wizard lately (I've never really played a caster, and I like wizards more than sorcerers for some reason), and I want to create a giantman.

Basically, I'm wondering what stat placement you guys would recommend. With the new system, I see people creating stats that will max near 120, possibly even before. Anyone got any numbers for a giantman wizard?

As far as training goes, I plan to 1x shield, 1x edged weapons, 1x MIU, 1x scroll reading, 1-2x mana share (depending on TPs... I need the stats before I can really plan things out on a spreadsheet, 2x spell aiming, 2x spell research and .3x physical training or something like that, with armor ranks thrown in whenever the TPs allow.

Anyone have any comments or suggestions? I really don't know too much about wizards, but am very interested, so let me know if I'm overlooking anything. Hunting in the early years without mana won't be a problem... so I'm more interested in totally optimizing the stats.

For Max growth I would suggest the following...it won't give you much mana early on, but I'll continue to say gemstone is so easy that you can be perfectly competent placing this manner, you just have to underhunt early.

All stats will max by level 111.

CON-80
DEX-64
DIS-56
LOG-37
INT-27 +10=37
STR-80
REF-74
CHA-87
WIS-87
AURA-28+10=38

This will give you 39/34 at level 0 which kind of sucks but its the sacrifice to have perfect stats.

That would be nice, but you can only have 4 stats above 70 (only one of which can be greater than 90) with the new mangler. Not gonna happen with those rolls, although I wish it would. Maybe knock 5 off of RE or something? It doesn't max 'till 130 that way though.

Anyways... lemme know.

Crap I forgot about that. I guess you would have to make reflexes a 69...bump up aura to a 29 +10 =39. Bump up Intell 29 +10= 39, and logic to a 39. This format will cause every stat to be 100 by 111, except for reflex which will be 100 at 130. reg
You could still have 70 in reflex, just not OVER 70.. reg
All of my stats will never max but hey I have fun with him and he is still viable so far, will be be at the rift? Remains to be seen.

Here start laughing:

Why did I miss 4 spell aim ranks? Wish I knew.

14 ranks in trading, what the hell was I thinking? Not a clue but those deals a I get in the gem and pawn make it worth it ( sure they do).

1 rank in First Aid, no idea, don't ask.

Didn't start manna share till late never knew I needed it.

Anticor was my first character, rolled and trained him with no clue as to what I was doing. I will start grabbing armor ranks when I can because some day I hope to be in brig.

He isn't atrocious, but I'd question to myself whether I'd want to invest a lot of time in a character I"m not fully happy with, especially at only 26 trains. reg
I am perfectly happy with him, I just realize that he is far from perfect. Those 26 trains took me 2 years to get so the time has already been invested. Besides in the long run he won't be bad just won't be Uber.

Your last stat maxes at level 414 (20.2 mill exp).

26 levels (800k experience) in 2 years, is 1095 exp per day.

Which means, in 48 more years, you'll finally have your last stat maxed. reg

Thanks for the look into the future. I am not real worried about stats maxing though, I am happy that he is different and still workable.

I finally got him rolled and have started hunting rats. Here's what I've got going so far:

Name: XXXXXX XXXXXX Race: Giantman Profession: Wizard (not shown)
Gender: Male Age: 31 Expr: 39139 Level: 3
Currently Stat Bonus
Constitution (CO): 80 .... 25
Dexterity (DE): 65 .... 2
Discipline (DI): 57 .... 3
Logic (LO): 40 .... -5
Intelligence (IN): 40 .... -10
Strength (ST): 80 .... 30
Reflexes (RE): 71 .... 5
Charisma (CH): 87 .... 23
Wisdom (WI): 87 .... 18
Aura (AU): 45 .... -7
Mana: 1 Silver: 0

XXXXX (at level 3), your skill bonuses and ranks are:
Skill Bonus Rank
-------------------------------------------------------------
Shield Use : 20 [4]
Edged Weapons : 20 [4]
Mana Sharing : 20 [4]
Spell Aiming : 40 [8]
Physical Training Points : 4

Stats all max at level 125. As far as training goes, what you see is my base (1x shield use, 1x edged weapons, 1x mana sharing, 2x spell aiming, 2x spell research).

Here are some milestones in training (additions to base training):
Level 4: .3x PT until max
Level 15: 1x MIU, 1x Scrolls (50 ranks by 64)
Level 23: 1x perception, continue for life
Level 26: .5x climbing/swimming
Level 50-something: Begin 1x first aid

At level 60, he will be fully trained (30 ranks) for brigandine. At level 62, he begins 1x'ing CM for life. I really think it will be beneficial for him, the DS benefit being at the absolute bottom of my list. Any opinions on this?

As far as spell training goes, what are your recommendations? I plan to take the 500s up to 513, before switching back to the minors, while keeping the wizard circle on level until then. Would you recommend tripling, or no? I think the TPs might be better spent elsewhere, but I honestly don't know where I would put them.

Anyways, I'm just curious to the feasibility of him as a character. I think that if I can be patient enough to pull him through the younger years without much mana, he will be great when older. Giantman wizards just intrigue me.
