Human Archwizard Training Plan (very long)

The following is my wizard training plan.

It is a plan that "maxes" at level 66, meaning at level 66 you get a boatload of training points you can use to diversify to get whatever the heck you want, and when I say boatload... I mean TONS. You will also have all the ranks of climbing, swiming you need to travel to any part of Elanthia fluently (0 RT in brig armor while slightly encumbered in any area that performs an RT check for climbing), max health points (obviously), in brigandine armor just when you have enough mana to use it without worrying about spell hinderance and when critters pack a real punch, and you'll have all the core wizard skills EVERY wizard should have (singling mana share for LIFE, scroll reading, magic item use, perception).

Additionally, stats are placed for two purposes, to get all the training points you need to comply with the training plan and additionally so that they aren't also a burden on your character and you feel like a certain age range is a struggle.

This training plan ENSURES that your entire career as a wizard is flexible and easy going. When you're young, and when you're old. It's not one of those struggle when young and get the reward when old, it's succeed when young and excel even more when old.

I used my character manager to optimize the stats and keep them comfortable and this was the best I could come up with.

The following are some tables that will show your progress using this training plan. Keep in mind that the 100 table and 160 table are the bare minimums of what your character will be like. You get upwards of 350 spare training points at that age that you can use to IMPROVE your wizard in any way you wish. Perhaps train in MO, or CM, or continue armor training until hauberk, or double in magic item use, whatever you feel like training in you will have upwards of 30 PTPs and 5-10 MTPs to play around with EVERY single training beyond 66.

That's the beauty of this training plan... once you're at 66 trainings and have all that you need... you will now have so many spare points you can use to train in things purely for fun.

A question on mana share...

Why do you consider it a necessity to single train in mana share every level, forever?

In the past, I have always heard that training to a bonus of +102 is sufficient. Also, mana share was always a core skill of the Channeling realm, not the Essence realm.

Is it something to do with enchanting?

I stopped training at 24 ranks (6 levels ago) so I haven't missed too many if I need to start up again in the skill.

I'd love to hear the opinions of everyone.

It is pretty widely recommended that wizards/sorcs/empaths and clerics should remain fully singled in manashare. Clerics I'd recommend fully doubled. It may play a large part in the future enchant, and its a magical skill that may play a role in other things in the future as well. Not really need to be fully singled in it now, but I'd be prepared.

There is no way it will be a requirement to be fully 1x in sharing. With a high cost and only possible to 1x, this skill will never be a make or break.

GMs say the same thing about spell aiming to sorcerers.

They don't NEED to be singled in mana share, hell they'll even probably say they don't even NEED mana share period.

I recommend that any new wizard single in mana share to avoid the frustrations that will result from not having singled. It's a simple skill to fully single yourself in, and it is afterall a magical skill.

Charge item will use it, enchanting will most likely use it, and additionally wizards are more of a utility centered profession and utilities require skills.

I can guarentee you one of those skills that will appear over and over will be mana share.

Just for your info, a level 99 sorcerer with 100 ranks of spell aim will have the exactly same FI as a level 99 sorcerer with 200 ranks, assuming same stats and other training.

Im guessing spells are your opinion...And it'd be good if you decided on your own. If you follow something that kranar posts you might have the same EXACT character as someone else due to the same rolling system now. reg

True, offnode experience will be slow in your beginning years. Can always keep in mind however that on a node you learn just as fast as anyone else.

Also it grows slow for wizards and therefore you would get less phsyical training points if you placed low.

Hey..I've been doing this plan and it's been fine until level 3..

It says I should have enough points to get 2 ranks of PT but i'm only getting enough to get one rank of perception,and no pt..

it says on the bottom of 0-3 training plan to get 2 ranks in phsyical training with your spare points... heh, on the 4-6 it doesnt say anything about phsyical training with spare points but 8-9 it tells you to get 1rank of PT.. heh.. maybe thats your problem? i dunno reg

LOL! As I look back on Ungh's post I think I made a mistake with my posting..I assumed it meant to go down to the 4 training part (when you start perception) when I got an extra TP..Is this right? reg

Yep, your guy is right on track.

That above statement is read "At level 3 your guy should have accumulated a combined total of 16 spare physical training points. Those spare physical training points should have been used to get you 2 ranks of physical training."

There are notes included every now and then that tell you what to spend your spare training points on, this is because some skills can't be trained in on a consistent basis and so you just wait until you have enough points to get rank in it.

This however stops somewhere, I think it's like level 40-50 where you can use spare points to train in whatever the heck you want, and at level 66 you'd have had something like 250 spare training points and an additional 15 training points per level to train in whatever the heck you want.
