Assisting while dead

Dateline 6/29/2001: DEATH AND ASSISTS

As many of you know, a GameHost automatically responds to the next person in the assist line. If you are dead when a GameHost arrives, they are required to exit the area quickly to prevent their presence from interfering with any rescue attempts. This is usually followed by a message asking you to re-assist when alive.

To better accommodate everyone, instead of having a GameHost arrive for your assist and then depart, the system will check to see if you are dead. If so, you will get a message saying you were passed over at this time due to death. You still get to keep your place in line, so that a GameHost can resume helping you when you are alive again.

By making this change, we are attempting to add that extra little step and improve our customer service response, as well as help you resolve your needs as fast as possible.

It's a catch 22, if you died because of the reason you are assisting and no one knows where you are then you have to decay.

Then when the host comes to assist you after you have decayed and lost experience they can not help you.

This would be a good occasion to use REPort, I should think.

There is a tool for every need, it is just a matter of discerning the correct tool for the job.
