Elven Nations Expansion News

Greetings.

As many of you know, the first installment of the Elven Nations has been released this past June. Thus far the expansion has been a wonderful success and we are all looking forward to the surprises the second expansion holds for you.
It is my duty to inform you that the official release date for the second expansion has been moved back to September 28th. This is the date on which the new player character generation in the city will begin for the first time. Prior to that, on September 21st, Ta'Vaalor and the surrounding area will be released to our guests, and the trail between the cities opened. We apologize for the inconveniences this may have cause you, and hope that you all continue looking forward to the expansion as we are.

Sincerely,

i just hope this is a blizzard-esque delay and not a diakatana-esque delay.

If the former is true then i'm glad they did it.

better late then broken. reg

What is funny. Everyone predicted this.

Everyone predicted delays and were wrong about EN I when it hit on time. It happens, EN II gets delayed, and folks are going to jump all over it as another instance of how "Simu Sucks."

That's what I predicted anyway. Looks like I was right.

You know when you think about it... it's not all that bad.

It's only going to be another month and the place is already HUGE.

Sorry about that Kranar.

I have no problem waiting another month. Things will get done eventually, and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I don't have to have everything right now. reg

Sorry to say. But you wrong. When EN was announced at first. It wasn't 2 parts. Then they changed it to 2 parts. Then delayed the second part a second time. So it's actually months late.

But everyone knew this was going to happen.

I actually like having solid dates. Since this is a new hunting area I can actually learn from. I would like to make sure I have a day off from work. Which I have to ask for way in advanced. Nowadays I can only give up an hour at a time to Gemstone since I have been working myself to death.

Great!! So by the time I can get my script working right, or i find out how to get to EN myself I'll have all of EN to explore at once. After all it'll prolly take me a month to get there even if my script was working right. Hehe nah, im just messing, too much negativity since i last saw the boards. En is great, so I have an extra month to wait. Either way I'm going to loose some sleep over it. Don't really matter what month its in.

It was always announced as being a two-part release. The information provided to current customers was that they were releasing Ta'Illistim May 31 and Ta'Vaalor August 31. The information provided in press releases and as advertising to potential *new* customers only spoke of one release - the second one on August 31. This was for marketing purposes, according to Melissa, because the second release was the one that would have the newbie drop and young critters necessary for new customers to begin playing.

The only change from the original announcement came maybe a day (might have been a few hours) after it was posted. The original announcement stated the second release would be on August 1. Marisol made an error and posted that it was actually scheduled for release on August 31.

Sorry Edge, but you're incorrect.

Across the DragonSpine, an ancient race awaits your arrival. A city of exile. A city of light. A city of song... live the story.

GemStone III: The Elven Nations

FEATUREING APPROXIMATELY 3,000 NEW LOCATIONS: The Elven Nations expansion brings to light the eastern half of the continent of Elanith. The expansion provides more than a 20% increase in adventuring locales. Explore the ancient cities of the elves, and plumb the depths of lore you've never imagined. Beginning with a journey through the DragonSpine, characters will be able to experience two new cities and adventure in half a dozen smaller towns. One of the cities will be a fully-equipped starting city for new citizens. Characters of any level will be able to travel between the existing realm and the new cities, although not without some danger!

NEW CREATURES AND HUNTING AREAS: Around 110 new creatures will be available to hunt in large new hunting areas for level ranges 1 - 150, providing an approximate 30% increase over our currently available creature base. For both the newcomer and the experienced GemStone resident, the Elven Nations expansion will provide a lifetime of adventuring opportunity!

NEW ROLEPLAYING AND QUESTS: The expansion will include the introduction of richly detailed elven histories and expanded information on the mysterious Arkati. Numerous mini-quests and puzzles will be available to explore and solve. There will be an exciting new game-wide quest to join, the addition of readable books to the realms, and many more terrific surprises!

COMING MAY 31 AND AUGUST 1, 2001!

Discussion now going on in the Towns and Neighborhoods Category in the Elven Nations Topic!

(As you can see, the silly Design people have been goofing off <wink> )

Big typo then, since all the GMs apparently thought it was Aug 1st...Hrm.

Still, when everyone expects Simu to never make their launch dates. Says a lot about the Company and staff.

Maybe they will improve someday, but don't expect us to raise our hopes any time soon.

The second half of the Elven Nations Expansion is scheduled for August 25, not August 1.

Sorry for the mistake.

What really bites is that I have still not been to EN... Edge, you better reserve some time to haul me out there when I get back in the lands.
