Since the release of the breakage DUSTR updates, we've been able to identify numerous areas of concern. Many items have been given errant values because the system has not recognized its material and applied the appropriate bonus. Many of these problems stem from alterations and other merchant services, unusual naming conventions, or incorrect construction.

We've been working steadily to refine the breakage system to handle these items correctly and to develop guidelines for the staff to reference when faced with the task of adjusting these items. Some of these obscure items will be adjusted transparently, but many will require manual fixes through the assist/referral system.

In view of these circumstances, we'd like to push back the release of breakage to November 9th. This will allow us the time needed to perform the manual adjustments on items not receiving their proper material bonus. We do apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause, but feel it's far more important to ensure that the players are treated fairly rather than it is to stick to the stated release date.

We will be releasing a NEWS item when we are prepared to start handling assists and referrals for items that require manual adjustments. In the meantime, Tolli will continue to compile her list of obscure items and disseminate information as it becomes available.

Why didn't he just say wait till next year and breakage will be read to go.

Well, at least they have equal oppertunity for pushing back their deadlines. reg
I'm glad they pushed it back.

Some of the numbers for stuff made no sense whatsoever. Hope they'll get things fixed. reg

Amazing when I assited on my massive breastplate breakage...70\400..

Normal breastplate is 60\465.

Mine was strengthened and lightened. Now I could understand the durability going under 465 if it was JUST lightened. But Mahegh insists that these numbers are correct.

I don't 60m on a item for it to be average or to breakage in a few hunts of taking hits,

How many years does it take to see some glaring faults? I swear the common sense quota at Simutronics is in the red zone.

Hiway, you say that like you expected differently...

Act first, think later seems to be SIMU's motto when it comes to rolling out massive changes that the population feels strongly about...

You are right. Just venting I guess.

Still amazed by the actions and organization they have.

Salt to the wound is when you meet many of them they have a know-it-all attitude and look at you like you are incapable of understanding without a single attempt on their part to try to explain... Or to even acknowledge any simple common sense.

Hiway reg

I know what you mean.

I have the utmost respect for some of the people SIMU has on staff. Tigermist does wonders for Premie. Kyalia is an amazing alterer. And all of the people who create the amazingly fun items and games like the gladiator doll pits and the infamous dark box have my complete respect as do the room/area creators.

But the sad fact is that on some of the most important aspects of the game, the ball keeps getting dropped. Customer Service and Game Mechanics need some serious overhauls. These bandaid repairs lose good customers. And when good people leave, their friends start leaving too.

Aerienne reg

Yeah. Fewer and fewer I know anymore. Tigermist is a great GM. Warden is too.

I do not respect SGM Kennesaw at all. He has no professional courtesy or restraint. Neither does Krash. I once trusted Krash and respected him. After asking what the policy about hiding is he stated I could leave and no one would care. And that's after Drizzdst and I actually agreed on something and we just simply wanted a decision...

I just simply do not understand the motives of some people and why they say some things. Andraste... well I can't even say a word without myself moderating my own post.

Hiway reg

Back on topic...I keep trying to figure out how they are going to weed out all the altered items that didn't save the original metal. I mean...the only thing they have is if you registered it before you got it altered, otherwise I'd just say that this ole altered shield here is made of golvern...yeah...that's right. How could they prove it wasn't?

Secondly, they want to take all these assists at once? They'll have to have a merchant type setting, with a list you join 1 for armor, 1 for shields, 1 for weapons that has an infinite number of positions, and you just hand over the item and they fix each one in turn. Kind of like when the guy who sold the veniom-bound rolaren tower shields had to fix them all because they were made of wood. That's the only way I can see it done in a meaningful amount of time.

I'm thinking that breakage will be something that happens next year, early next year, but next year none the less.

Heh, after talking with Elderak during an assist, and then Tolli posting on the official boards, I hate to say I told you so, but Breakage now has no specified release date, which I believe means RSN. I'll keep to my prediction of the first quarter of next year.

I think it might to big of a project to ever come out. Plus, why not fix all the other things that are broken before bringing out the most unwanted change in game histroy.

I know EN has so many bugs its not believeable. Roberta IMs me all the messed up things. They rushed that place out so fast. I don't think it went through QC.

Let's fix enchant before breakage. At least we have a way to renew the enchants we are going to lose.

Get enscrollment in to, before breakage.

God, lets just make more problems, screw quality.

edge reg

Approximately five months ago, they opened up the Elven Nation, implemented the Age Cap, and introduced the home sale/move feature, all in the same week. There were so many problems and bugs it was unbelievable. In addition, this was the same week that the big convention took place. Having all those things crammed into one week, sure didn't make much sense to me.

I haven't been here that long, but every announcement of something "new" that I've heard about has been delayed. I hope breakage is delayed so long, it gets forgotten. I have enough to worry about when I hunt, stance dancing, hitting the right critter, my perfume wearing off....who needs the added stress of watching weapons, shield, and armor shatter!
