The new area with griffins, constructs, scouts, janissaries, etc. is indeed Ta'Faendryl or whatever. An old character that's been busy dying there has confirmed that to me. He hasn't, however, given me any information about the area, only the creatures.

People are all talking about it on the official boards, especially the critters taking stuff from your dead body which includes weapons, shields, and miscelaneous worn items (amulets, talismans). Heh...maybe they're trying to get rid of all the mage rechargables.
