Alright ... 47 of you took a great deal of time to post your requests for the year 2002. I compiled all your requests and counted them. Those requests which came from multiple sources I have listed here so that I can give you an update on them. There were far too many to list them all.

I'm still working on an official 2002 Goals list for you guys to see, but this will give you more details on some of the more popular requests.

First, a disclaimer: Doo-doo happens, and sometimes there are unexpected delays. At the same time, sometimes there are unexpected gains. So ... understand that if I name a timeline here it's not a promise but a goal ... a hope.

>DEMEANOR<

We had intended to release this last year, but it was delayed. We hope to see this in the first quarter of 2002.

>New Artisan Skills<

There were a number of new artisan skills requested. The skills we will definitely be completed are the ones we already began in 2001: fletching and cobbling. We will likely follow that up with brewing. Fishing appears to be very popular request, so we might consider doing that one. On the other hand, I am not going to focus a huge amount of attention on this this year ... we'll be primarily focusing on spells and history. So we may only get 2-3 skills done this year.

>Solhaven Development<

This includes all the missing shops and such that people listed. Actually, we'll be trying to finish up several towns this year: Solhaven, River's Rest, Teras Isle, Zul Logoth, Ta'Vaalor, Ta'Illistim. There will be less focus on hunting areas tho and more on getting the town services completed. That's not to say you won't see some new hunting areas.

>Guilds (esp Warrior/Rogue) in every city<

Well, we're certainly going to try and get the Wizard, Bard and Cleric guilds out. We'll do our best to get the Warrior/Rogues out into the EN ... at least to pay dues.

>RP - finish Baron Hochstib event<

I hope so. I'm trying to fit this into the schedule.

>Bard Development and fixes<

There is a lot of bard development and bug fixing planned for this year. Including the two remaining spells. We've made some significant progress on bard bugs so far and hope to see that completed within the month ... God willing.

>Guilds Development<

We probably won't see a lot of new guild skills this year. If we see any, it'll be Rogue skills.

>Large Festival Vessel Merchant (esp Illyan Cloud)<

We would like to do this during the first quarter of the year. We will probably do a double event similar to the Founders Day Festival we did in the year 2000. It'll be a double festival with half of the festival being available to all users, and the other half dedicated to Premium members only.

>Premium Auction<

This is a HUGE request and one we want to try to find some way to fulfill. I don't think you folks have a very good grasp on how truly resource intensive an auction is. The Seniors and I are currently in discussions about this tho and we'd really like to find some solution. If this is done, it'll likely use some of the same tricks we used last time: semi-unique items (most items having 3 additional similar duplicates), and some very special door prize options (neat scripted items that you can receive if you don't get anything from the auction.) I do not forsee us doing this anytime sooner than fourth quarter.

>Spells - Enchant Spell - Wizards<

Yes. This will be done.

>Finish Spell lists (at least up to 20)<

Mostly. Some new spots have recently been opened due to spell list changes, and other spots will be opened by the end of the year. We will be filling most sub 20 spots this year, and a number of 20+ spots. We will NOT be seeing demon summoning this year.

>Finish all towns<

I think I mentioned this above under "Solhaven Development"

>History - Sylvankind documentation<

Yes. There will be a large focus on fleshing out game depth issues this year ... RP enhancements, writing histories, etc. Go to the roleplaying discussion topic in the Roleplaying category to participate in some of the discussions there.

Yes

>Teras Development (inc. Empty shops)<

We hope to complete the empty Teras shops.

>CHE - Increased support <

We're hiring new people to fill out the CHE team, we're also going to be working on some CHE redesign. Of course, we hope to implement the PRO system this year as well, so that will probably help a bunch.

Probably not at this time. This requires some significant work by the onsites.

We are putting a verb list on our own website - it's not ingame, but it's closer.

This is a very popular request. I'll make an effort to get it on the list.

I'll look into it. If this is done it'll largely be done as an indivual GM project rather than a team goal.

This is done on an individual GM basis.
