A horse is a horse, of course of course...

Friday night was the unveiling of the mount/groom system. Horses and donkeys were released. I was attempting to knock over pins in the midst of laser lights and smoke at that time, so i don't have any logs of the horses in action.

Count that as the first event i missed, didnt take very long.

[Gambrills, Town Commons Northeast]
The faint sound of a fountain tinkles through the air. Snow hangs on the bare branches of oak trees bordering the lane, and gathers in piles on the side of the road. The multicolored cobblestones are dusted with tiny ice crystals and bits of straw. Octagonal lanterns, set atop tall black iron posts, cast dim pools of light over the roadway.

The keep rises on a hill to the north, just visible beyond tree branches nearly blotting out the dark sky. A few stone benches sit on one side of the lane. [Gambrills, Gramaich Road]
The skeletal trees give way to a cleared area of gently sloping snow-covered hills. Overlooking all of Gambrills, the keep looms in the distance. Flanked on either side by iron poles holding burning torches, the road is a ribbon of light in the darkness. The flames cast dancing pools of yellow light on the weathered cobblestones.

[Gambrills, Gramaich Road]
A wide expanse of paving stones climb up a hill towards the keep, and a second smaller lane branches off towards a level plain. Stretching along the sides of the road are rolling slopes blanketed in a pristine white mantle of snow. Lining both sides of the causeway, torches set in tall poles illuminate the cobblestones with their flickering, warm light.

[Gambrills, Tournament Field]
Great lengths of rope strung through iron posts enclose a sweeping grassy field. Two striped canvas tents flank a spacious stable along the perimeter of one side of the field, and on the opposite side sits some wooden exhibition stands. To one end of the expanse is a fenced corral. Up on its imposing hill, the flickering keep watches solemnly over everything.

[Tournament Field, Main Stable]
Gray flagstones echo occasionally with the hollow ring of hooves. Spacious wooden stalls run down both sides of a wide aisle, and inquisitive heads peek out over a stall door now and then. The smells of horse, sweet feed and leather mix with the scent of fresh hay. A large double door leads to the tournament field outside. A single lantern hangs from a beam overhead, shedding a dim glow over the stable.

Coarse braided bhang ropes strung between battered posts comprise the majority of the makeshift enclosure. The size of the corral makes up for any lack in elegance. Heavy epaine tack blankets in various faded colors are tossed over the ropes, creating an almost festive appearance. A long wooden watering trough sits opposite a gate. Fine dust hangs in the air, and horses move about munching on piles of hay.
