Nintendo music ruled

Anyone remember these classics?

[links are now broken for sure]

When you click one of these, a page should come up saying you should reload or something, but also it should start playing the MIDI (music file) after a few seconds.

P.S. I had a few people check these links from here and they said they work. If anyone else has success please say so. Thanks.

Dead links reg
Both worked for me. reg
You can't beat ninja gaiden (the first of course) in terms of classic game music.

Especially act 4 i believe.

don't ask.

I love Ninja Gaiden. That was the most sweetest game but always pissed me off because I got I think stage 5 and couldn't make the jump. I still hold a grudge.

Lord Deprav reg

what amazes me is, I can vividly recreate 10-20 songs from nintendo games, yet i can't hum 2 bars to anything that has come out within the last 7 years except for the stuff that used bands that i knew like toney hawk or dave mira.

Its amazing with all the production money and sound advancements that those little do-do-do's could leave such a lasting impression.

I agree. Video game music is the catchiest stuff I've ever heard by a long shot. It's also way more nostalgic than real songs, however if I had my choice I'd go with real songs over video game music.

Everyone who played Contra, Double Dragon, Castlevania 1, Castlevania 2, Wizards and Warriors, or Metroid, goto this site, then click on SONGS, then DL them. This band is a real band that covers NINTENDO music. How awesome is that?

P.S. Note, this direct link probably won't work... just type the URL into your browser. reg

In general I agree, but in my opinion the best video game sound track goes to Killer Instinct.

Ultra Combo!

Anyone know even played MIKE TYSON'S PUNCH OUT will love this mp3. It seriously rules.

This topic along with several others will be moved to the new Video Games folder for continued discussion.

Probably the best video game coverer I have found is McVaffe. Check out his songs here:

High quality stuff from Sonic to Street Fighter 2 to Final Fantasy 3 to Megaman. I'd strongly recommend checking this stuff out.

Also, the Minibosses do great rock covers of classic Nintendo songs, another site you shouldn't pass up.

Here is some guy that did two really great covers of Chrono Trigger music, they are the bottom two songs listed.

This guy, Chris Stewart, is very talented as well, his Wily theme and Megaman 3 intro are absolutely brilliant.

Here are a couple of good ones too by Alias Jack.

Generic is a good band, they have a pretty good selection... probably second to McVaffe

Well, I'll post more good links as I find them. If anyone else has good ones, link away by all means.

That's the guy that made the music for Doom and stuff. "Hiding the Secrets" and "Doom's Gate" are awesome... straight outta Doom1.

I have the entire soundtracks to FFIV, FFVI Chrono Trigger, and FFT loaded up in my playlist. reg
I have the SPCs for FF4, FF6, and CT too, pathetically enough, I bought the FFT CDs. They were actually worth it though.
