Star Craft

08:31 PMSince Gemstone recently has been boring the hell out of me, I've been doing two things... Programming my butt off working on the Ultraverse and playing Star Craft.

Anyone here good at Star Craft? Which version of the game do you play (brood wars or normal), favorite race you like? And heck, we can even plan some good 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 on these boards. Place some bets like 100k to the winner to add a little excitement.

That games one of the best ever.
I play brood wars only now. Can't go back without lurkers...

I like the terrans but i suck with them. Im best with the zerg.

In a custom scenario, i can beat the computer one on one (whichever race they are) in around 20 minutes or less everytime playing how i normally would, 10 minutes using cheap tactics that only work with dumb computer opponents...

I only have a 56K though, so i'd be the lag horse in every multi play.

04:34 PMWhen I get brood wars we'll go one on one. I play the regular star craft and my best race is zerg... just feels like once I get my 14 hateries online I'm unstoppable, but of course the downside is getting 14 hateries, heh.

If anyone else wants to play some mad 3 on 3s or 4 on 4s post it in here. I'm dying to see some huge battles.

10:02 PM I'm ok at Starcraft, only play normal though. Usually play as humans, but like kelood I'm stuck with 56k. reg
10:13 PMThere is nothing wrong with playing on battlenet with a 56k modem if there is a ratio of 2(56k modems):1(cable/dsl). The game will be perfectly fine.

Terran are good, but honestly once you start playing with zerg and abuse their ability to create tons of units within minutes, you just can't go back.

10:36 PMI always did very well with protoss. I sucked with humans and just never liked the way zerg looked.. Something about playing ugly aliens was uncomfortable to me. Protoss can beat the heck out of human or zerg in a regular game. I havent tried brood wars. And actually havent played SC in a long time, but wouldnt mind a change of pace if ya want me along. reg
04:58 PMwe definately should get a GS game going, private game. I guess we'll have to play regular though, it seems nobody has brood wars... As long as we all download the latest patch (it fixes a few balancing issues).

06:49 PMHeh, Starcraft. I competed in the top 20 of the Brood War ladder for months, I've participated in tournaments, and won probably close to $2000 from playing, I'd be happy to join you guys =D reg
07:09 PMI'll try and get Brood wars by the end of next week and then I'm gonna go one on one against you Kelood. I say the winner between the both of us go up against AestheticDeath, and then finally the winner of that can play Carthax.

Red Alert indeed was an enjoyable game, however there were certain unbalancing aspects of it which over time made it too repetitive. One example is the tesla coils, like seriously there is no losing if you surround your base with tesla coils and the missle shooteruppers. The AI for the game though was hype.

06:57 AMMan, i love SC, i play brood wars...but i dont have my CD's with me...i'm pretty good with protos, but i havnt played the game in a while, maybe i'll buy it again and we can all play!
