There was a promotion for people to join Inferno if they were GSers last month, and it's been extended.

Big manual, lots to read. But you're better off spending a couple of hours reading now, than spending days or even weeks of making mistakes and being frustrated.
Ice9 admin, the owner of Inferno, is offering a character transfer from Simu games to Inferno. What this means is, if you commit to a minimum of 6 months in Inferno beyond the 30 day trial period, they'll transfer to your Inferno character 15 builds for each level your GS character was, or 7.5 builds if you roll up a crafter instead of a hunting character.
They have some conditions:
1) You can't do the transfer during the 30 day free trial period. If you want this right away, you'd have to pay right away. (Bear in mind you don't HAVE to use the 30 day trial
period. It's a good idea though, to make sure you feel comfortable about playing Inferno to stay.)
2) Transfers must have their Inferno accounts paid 6 months in advance ($20/month = $120).
3) If you're transferring a DragonRealms character, you'll get 26 builds per level, or 13 per level for a crafter.
4) If you already have an Inferno character, you have two options:
a) You can get a flat 1000 builds added to your Inferno character or 500 builds to your crafter character, with a 6 month prepayment.
b) You can take advantage of the "main" offer, adding builds to your existing Inferno character or for a second character.
5) The end of the transfer option is JUNE 30, 2001. (EXTENDED FROM MAY 31)
There's also an updated Referral Policy:
If a new player who confirms their account (confirming means making it permanent after the free trial period is over, or waving the trial period and turning their account "permanent" right away), and that player named you as a referral, you'll have a choice of 10 builds added to your Inferno character, or 75000 Kresthals/37500 Royals or Golats in Construction Credit.
