Sure it will, being able to developed for one platform will mean that they can concentrate on making the game full potential. When Xbox gets GTA3, it will more than likely be a port from PS2, with graphical enhancements and some more features. If it was built from ground up on Xbox, I’m sure it would be way better than an upgraded PS2 port.

graphics weren't impressive at all
Did you check the latest review of Max Payne on Gamespot? 10 Graphics for Xbox, 8 for PS2.
"--loading times are bad, and the game's sluggish frame rate and blurry textures aren't flattering, especially if you've seen the far-superior-looking PC and Xbox versions of Max Payne"
It looks like your PS2 hardware is becoming old, really old.
Think of when playstation was released and the games weren't great but a couple years later
Lets think of it.. PS2's 2 year old games can't even compete with Xbox's 1st generation games, pathetic.
But by the time all the additional hardware for it is ready, the games will be godlike and you'll be all begging to come over and play my PS2. Losers.
Good luck spending $100 extra bucks so that you can have a hard drive and broadband capabilities that Xbox has built in. Might i hint to you that console add-ons have a horrible history of failure?

You'll be coming to my house to play all Xbox games because Microsoft is planning to buy out developers such as Take-Two, Interactive and possibly Sega.

Do keep in mind that game ratings are based on the potential of the system in question.
For instance, Gameboy gets 10s for graphics as much as any other system does... but its 10s don't compare to the PS2s 10s. PS2 is a superior system.
X-Box is the same way, its potential, from what I've seen, isn't as great as the PS2s or the GameCube's.

I wouldn't mind owning both PS2 and Xbox. I've heard great things about Xbox, but I worry about it being Microsoft and it becoming unreliable or have a compatability issue later on.
Should we find a hole in our entertainment unit to hold a game system, I'd rather start with PS2 and move up from there. I'm not a risk taker when it comes to game consoles, and since Xbox just came out, I'm hesitant to buy it right away.
Same aspect as me buying Windows XP. I just refuse to upgrade to that 1.5 gig monstrosity for media stuff. Oh please. Microsoft makes my teeth hurt sometimes. I'd rather wait for a while first. Maybe I'll bombard someone I know who has Xbox.

XBox certainly is the most powerful of the systems and by a long shot, but this isn't significantly important since Sega Saturn was a much more powerful system than the Playstation and Saturn got burned hardcore. It's games that make the system worth buying, not the power.
As for games, we really can only wait and see what these three companies will have to offer. PSXII has had a year to try and impress consumers, and in my opinion it really did little impressing, it offered nothing new or revolutionary, just the old type of games but with better graphics and sound. Sony should have done as much as it could to get EVERY video game lover to buy a PSXII before these new systems came out, now it has to face the competition.
My prediction? All I'm pretty certain of is that Nintendo will get burned soon and quick. Sony and Microsoft however will go head to head for awhile, and it will end up being like the Genesis/SNES wars where the two companies will remain at each others necks for a real long time without one being the clear and absolute winner over the other.

The X-Box needs a killer game. Right now, it has none. Halo is a dissapointment, and is scheduled for release on the PC and Mac anyway.
PS2 already has a fairly good consumer base, and the big games are coming out for it now. FFX, MGS2, GTA3, THPS3 and others are going to be all over people's wishlists this holiday season... and the games make the money, not the consoles.
And everyone knew that in all arenas except sports games, SNES was the winner. reg

I like my nintendo and super nintendo better.

What I meant is that in the short time that XBox has been out, it's done more successfully than ANY other console system in history. Some statistics to back this up are:
- People who purchase an XBox also purchase an average of 2.4 games along with it. This is the highest average since PSX IIs 1.9 game average. GameCube is also at the 1.9 average.
- Although Microsoft hasn't revealed its sales figures the estimated sales figures for the consoles were 400,000-500,000 for GameCube and 550,000-600,000 for XBox as of Thanksgiving. From what I've read XBox has also been doing consistently better in sales than GameCube recently. By the end of the holidays an estimated 1.5 million XBox's are planned to be sold and Nintendo is expected only to sell 900,000 to 1 million. This figure, once again the highest figure for a console over the holiday season.
- EGM wrote an article over how their editors were litterally argueing like nuts over which system would come out on top. After much arguement and looking at the games being released the verdict was that XBox would eventually win the war of the consoles.
Mostly the reason why I think XBox will win this is the support. You have Microsoft, one of the biggest most powerful beasts in the world not only pumping millions of dollars into this system, but willingly doing so and not hesitating to pump millions more into this if they have to. They are buying out other developers so that they exclusively make games for the XBox. Infact when the specs for the XBox were being determined, Microsoft discussed what type of hardware to use with several gaming developers, when those specs were brought to Bill Gates, Gates said to take them and double them... he wanted to "crush the competition".
That's the type of attitude game developers are looking for. Microsoft will appeal to them more than Nintendo and eventually it's my prediction that it will also sway companies supporting Sony (which has Squaresoft on their side). It's a marketing war, it's which company is willing to do more for their console, because truth is all 3 of these consoles are top notch and all 3 of them are very capable of running excellent games. Microsoft is renowned for being an aggressive company and getting it their way, try competing with them and you get crushed (Netscape got crushed in the browser war and now IE is used by 80 percent of computer users, Corel was going bankrupt for trying to compete against Microsoft and now it's MS's lapdog).
This is something Microsoft really wants, and once again I see Microsoft plowing away at the competition anyway they have to.
