G.O.A.T.

What do you consider to be the Greatest (Video RPG) of All Time? I know it's a hard question, and you can emphasize all those that you were torn between in your post as well. But if you had to pick 1 (ONE), what would it be?

For me, I'd have to say Chrono Cross.

- The Klaive reg

The Zelda that came out for Super Nintendo.

That one was awesome.

Oops. I thought you were talking about Chrono Trigger. It was easy but it had some replay value in it. Chrono Cross totally sucked big behind though. What a total waste of money. Now FF3, that's a whole different story..

I'm a big fan of Legend of Zelda as well. reg
The best RPG I've ever played was The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It was the first Gameboy Zelda game and it was absolutely incredible.

I loved Dragon Warrior for the regular nintendo.. I played that game all the time as a little kid and I was never able to beat it, bought the game a couple years ago and one of these days when I buy another 8bit nintendo system I'll get to finish it.

I liked zelda and all that too, but that's the only unique one that people might not remember.

Ps. I never finished FF8 or 9, were those any good? reg

I'd have to say my favorite is probably FFT, followed very closely by FF2, FF3, CT, Zelda3 and like 10 other SNES games.

Sonic reg

I used to have a game for the Genesis called Mutant League Football... I played the hell out of that game.

rht reg

Mutant League Football? I loved that game.

The hockey one was better, though. The goals would randomly turn into huge gaping maws that would chomp on your unsuspecting skaters.

Yup Zelda, for Nitendo, Super Nitendo, and also the new one that came out with the new game. I've really bought the game just for Zelda, and if the New cube comes out with Zelda, I'd buy it too, and as for gameboys Zelda, it's just as great as the rest. Hard to beat or even compare.

Draack reg

tactics (psone), no question.
followed by might and magic VI (pc), the original dragon warrior(nes), and then suikaden(psone).

Zelda games were adventure games more than RPG, and I enjoyed all of them ( I refused to play the second one for n64, not wanting to ruin what was a perfect streak of great games). But if you want to count them as RPGs id put the whole series on there to round out the top five, though 7th saga would be there if your going strict rpg standards.

I'd say either Final Fantasy I or II on game boy...

Or Zelda.

reg

Dungeon Master for Atari. Best game ever.

FF3, Chrono trigger, Secret of mana, Secret of evermore, and Zelda all for SNES all but one by squaresoft that says somethin. reg
I agree Cronotrigger was one of the best RPG's of all time. I've been playing it from scratch using an SNES emulator on my computer, and saving my state, but the game has frozen now and I think I'm gonna have to start over.

Another RPG I enjoyed was the original Might & Magic for Genesis. That game gave me endless hours of fun.

Nothing compares to FF3(6)! reg
