Thought you folks might enjoy this...

So I'm debating starting a game of Icewind Dale. As you may or may not know, it's a combat oriented, D&D based game, much like Baldur's Gate.

I ask my friend what he thinks about it, as I recalled him playing it. He gave me the spiel, but then gave me his 'parting hint'.

"When you play," he told me, "Make sure you have a gnome in your party named Chomsky." reg

Gnome Chomsky? I thought at least 'lood would get it.

Oh well, to make ammends, here's Christopher Walken:

I don't know why you pegged me as the person most likely to get that one...

Gnome Chomsky.

Oh, that's good. Does he speak in convoluted riddles?

< quote >

"I’ll further assume as a standard but may well turn out wrong that there are just two interface levels, one of them connected to the sensori-motor systems and one of them connected to all the other systems of language-use, the representations of the objects at these levels are called pf and lf, phonetic form and logical form, representations, so that means an expression is at least a pair of representations, one at the pf level, one at the lf level, maybe at most that, but it’s at least that."
