BTW.

Plat's gone down the toilet.

I still have my account there, but it's just sad. Kylin, Kenstill, and Donomyn can't hunt the rift b/c no one can save them if they die.

What a bummer.

In my opinion a worthless venture. reg

Oh wah. And this is who's fault?
Everybody and I stress everybody who has ever played in Plat knows no matter WHERE they hunt there's a chance that when they die they won't get rescued.

This is a rather odd statement. You say Plat has gone down the toilet, and it appears by your words that the only reason it has is because three players can't always be successfully rescued in the hardest area of the game, assuming all three players are dead at once. Frankly, it doesn't mean anything but that the Rift is exactly what it's meant to be....the most deadly area of the game. In no way, shape, or form, does it mean an entire game has gone bad.

Since you've obviously played Plat yourself, you know that it isn't, and never will be, about hunting. Anyone who plays Plat solely for hunting, gaining levels, accumulating coin and items will never fully enjoy the experience. I'm not condemning those who do solely enjoy those things, I'm just saying that Plat isn't the place for that.

If you can honestly say that a roleplaying game has 'gone down the toilet' simply because the highest leveled characters struggle when hunting at the highest levels, then perhaps you're just not spending your free time in the right place.

Ok that was a generalization.

And sorry that I posted it.

I'm trying to open up more folders so more people can read more topics.

Yes I _did_ play Plat. And yes, I still have an account. You probably know my halfling rogue Ziz

I just feel like everytime I get into Plat it's a bore. There's no one around. That's my opinion.

There is no reason why Kenstill couldn't be hunting the rift all by his lonesome right now. I can understand the ranger and wizard not wanting to risk it, as the rift is rough on those profs, but as a warrior....come on, he could get through planes 1-4 without dying more than 10 times.

Ahh there's the rub eh?
I haven't been in much myself since Jaidhin and Turnora's wedding, responsibilities with one of my characters in Prime, critter and map research for The Beastiary, plus trying to hit legend has kept me away.
Melissa posted on the Plat boards today that the population issues ARE being looked into.
Hopefully some new blood can be pumped into Plat to keep it alive.

Khakur and others

reg

Ya a lil more population but not too much, i'd like to keep a steady beat of maybe about a hundred heads in game from 6 AM to 3 AM, eastern standard time. :-D

Plat isn't prime right?

So why does Plat get changes implemented for Prime that are made for Prime being so large? Like raising changes. That was soley brought around for vulture clerics. So now you are paying 80 bucks a month for a smaller prime with droppage.

Wait. RPering is the reason? most of the time the number of people don't break 20 ingame at once, unless a merchant is around. The population is so low that it's not much fun. Great diversity there...Ya.

The people that are high level in Plat are mainly due to MAing. Look at the rifters. So now. What's the difference between MAing in Prime and MAing in Plat? You got more money to spend on accounts?

Melissa has been looking into the population problems for several years now. But after every Simucon you get a surge of people. That just get bored after a month or two and cancel. So how do you keep the people in Plat?

I don't totally agree, it seems when I WANT interaction with other people in plat, it isn't really that difficult to do if its during a "high traffic" (20-35 people) time of the day. Most people seem quick to return conversation and show SOME interest in most things you say.
Also from my small experience in plat I've noticed people are in their bodies if they are sitting in a wide open room. That is one of my biggest gripes about prime. And lastly, I enjoy hunting much better in plat because there is more of a risk factor. You can legitimately decay losing all the stuff you are wearing, having a critter run off with your weapon and shield etc etc. In prime, the fear of any of that doesn't exist. I can't say that for the average person it would be worth paying 50-70 extra dollars a month to experience this, but for me this is a pretty big hobby.

I agree, i think it is the fact that im actually takeing a risk when i hunt that keeps me on my toes and interested in the game, also the fact that everytime i come in game, i can usually find some one to sit around and talk to and mess with, which passes the time quite quickly, unlike prime, where that happens very rarely, i usually dont like dealing wiht most people in prime cause there just real morons and they take everything out of charecter...especially in the landing.
