Snob?

Summir and I went back to Plat for a day. That is all we lasted with the attitudes.

She whispered to a emapth if she could get some healing.

Empath whispered back saying that it's rude to whisper to her and OOC and will not heal her. That she should ask outloud.

I only thought MAers liked being asked outloud?

Do you think whispering is rude and OOC? Did Summir deserve to be dealt with so rudely?

I wonder why people are leaving Plat again. This types of attitudes that has ruined Plat.

Don't get me wrong. There are lots of nice people in Plat. But they are far and few between. Just can't stand people that rude. It's only a game!

What did I do about this? Canceled for the fourth time. I keep trying it every so often and it's not worth it. Not even if it's 10 bucks more now.

I don't know why anyone would be upset in having someone whisper to them about getting healed. I know when I played an Empath, it was MUCH easier to "hear" a whisper in a crowd of people than having to listen to the throng. It also made it clear that the person wanted me, specifically, to heal them and not just whoever happened to be around at the time.

It also prevented zombie-scripers from jumping on my injuries just because they happened to hear the word "heal" in their triggers.

Must've run into an oddball healer, that's all I can think of.

As an empath in plat, I got yelled at for not healing some person who was just 'standing' there..

"Why didn't you OFFER to heal me?!"

Well, I figured if you wanted healing, you'd ask me. I'm not here to be your servant! reg

Yeah edge, I tried plat before, almost died too, cause it took me to long to find an empath heh reg
It wasn't right for whoever it was to carry on the way they did. Just out of curiousity, was the empath an older person, or appear to be an older person? Or were they young? My reason for asking is because if they were someone who was relatively new to plat, they might have been taking the whole "strict RP" philosophy at all times a bit too far. I realize that the age of the character really doesn't determine how long they've been around..they could have rerolled or just made a new character but have been in plat since day one, but it's a place to start. reg
Whispering to someone being OOC is the stupidest thing I've heard and brings back a really bad memory.

I was like 5 trainings and whispered to an empath at TSC to heal me and I got bound for asking because she didn't want me to put my mouth to her ear whispering to her.

She was an old empath too and I was stuck there for a real long time.

Being a healer in plat is very tough, I can't speak for the healer who Summir had the whispered conversation with. I know it wasn't me since I've not healed in a week or so.

I will say that I have pretty much given up healing in plat. Its far to hard to advance, keep healthy and gain any coin.

I am not greedy as Celtar, he'd heal alot more if he could even keep enough coins to buy herbs and save a little bit of coins. So that when a merchant showed up he could buy a trinket.

I found this was not possible. Folks got upset with him for saying he charged for healing, that he was a healer and not empathic.

Theres not enough healers in plat to play the swap wound thing, and theres not enough folks that come up that want to be healed to advance at a decent rate.

So what happens is that you get the occasional "serious" wounded person. It then takes you alot of mana and herbs to recover from that wounded person that might have made you numb or if your lucky fried.

By the time you heal down your belled and getting ready to hunt after spending alot of silvers and mana on healing. And lo and behold someone shows up and wants to be healed. So advancement by hunting is slow as is advancement by healing and rather frustrating.

On the otherside of the coin, my priest ( my original character in plat) kicks serious butt and does well. He's gaining coins, advancing and collecting gear and alterations at a very high rate.

Plat is alot of fun, theres some good folks there and some that I could do with out. But that's like anything, you take the good with the bad. The key thing is the bad are much better than most in prime. Hence my lack of logging into prime often now a days.

I did log into prime last night with Celtar and a few personas's for about two hours. Was seeing what was going on, where my characters were etc.

And also to get a good reminder of why I don't play prime anymore. Its sort of like quiting cigarettes and taking a puff off of one every few months, to remind you why you quit.

Khaladon and other staff in plat do a seriously good job at making the game fun. We had an event last night out in Ta'Illistim that was fun and damn dangerous.
It dealt with the Tralli and the villa out there.

Anyhow, kudos to those who make plat as fun as it is.

Celtar, I think you are a exception to the majority there. As with Krystic.

I know Khaladon is doing a great job. But god, the few people that are snobs are by far worse then in prime to me. The ones in Plat are extremely mean spirited too. They truely want to hurt peoples feelings.

I know I come off harshly, but that is just me. I will bend over backwards for someone to help them out too.

I love the thought of Plat. But just not enough people for me. Plus those few that are rude kills it for me.

Give me a IM and maybe I will try Plat again and you can try and show me the good things that I keep missing. LordEdgeleaf is my IM. Prove to me that it's better.

I had the same experience, Edge. I tried Plat a few times and at the hours I was in there (fairly late, pacific time), I couldn't find anyone. I tried another time and after hunting for a bit, went back to town and whispered to an empath requesting to be healed.... I almost had my head taken off and was told that I should go back to the general population if I didn't know how things were done. I was shocked because it was fairly busy in the area, and thought it was okay to whisper. If I'm working in the Tower and there is a lot of "noise, I always appreciate people whispering to me asking for help. As Roberta mentioned, if they don't whisper I can't always "hear" them.

Anyway, after trying Plat a few times, I thought it was kind of a "clique" thing in there and stopped trying. Once the price increase was announced, I cancelled it because it seemed silly to keep paying for something I wasn't using.
