Attack on New York

Ok folks I understand that this issue is a very hot issue for everyone, however calling people names on this board is not acceptable.

Please go to a different forum to do that.

If you whish to discuss this, please keep it civil and show respect to your other posters.

I know we are better then this folks, calling people names and using racist terminology makes everyone reading these boards just more angry.

We are all angry. Lets count to 10000 before posting. I know first hand what this is doing to people, I have a fairly close friend who works on the 26th floor of the WTC and so far have not heard anything.

So please folks for the people who have lost loved ones, and for people who are waiting to find out, lets keep this civil and allow everyone time to grieve.

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. It's when it resorts to petty insults that I cannot and refuse to tolerate.

When I said that I thought it in poor taste to invoke an in-game discussion about this (which was relayed to me by someone in the game.. I was at work at the time, and this friend also found it unnecessary) was because I personally don't want to hear about this 24/7 until it's over. I'm sorry if I was hoping to have a place I can seek refuge in and not have to hear about something that has destroyed me mentally and physically. I guess this makes me a selfish person in the eyes of some of you who found it so necessary to belittle me.

Everyone went home from work early because they couldn't concentrate, since we have friends and coworkers in NY and we have no idea how they are. I personally think it's unhealthy that for someone to devote so much of your personal time towards discussing something you personally have no control over, watch the horrific scenes on the news, and never seek shelter from it by doing something distracting and pleasant with friends and loved ones, which is what Gemstone was going to be for me.

I really really did not want to log on and find myself in the midst of an in-game debate and with cries of hatred and pain about the war when I'm trying to temporarily escape it. To bundle me with the people that have created this catastrophe is adding insult to injury.

I love my country too, and that it promotes freedom and the pursuit of happiness. Denying ANYONE of that, even people of countries we have discourse with is not what America is about. It's the one-sided "we are better and they deserve what they get" attitudes that some of you are stating that created this outrage. Yes I believe they should pay for what they have done, whomever did this, but I don't believe American should change how they deal with foreign countries.

I'm not saying anymore about this. I just felt I had a right to say how I feel, which I did without insulting anyone in return. I wish some of you would have done in the same in respect.

It's *probable* at this point that the plane that went down in Pennsylvania was shot down. If this is true, I personally think it was the right decision. For those of you who think that it was a BAD decision, and I'm sure you are out there. I'd like to hear a LOGICAL and well thought out response if possible.

To be perfectly honest, I do not know what to think about this. I knew something like this was going to happen soon especially since someone tryed using an airplane to take out the White House a few years ago. I would never have dreamed of the WTC. The Pentagon I can believe. I do not know if I want someone to pay or not. I do not know if I want to start a war. All wars have been foreign to the United States (except civil and revolution) and this will be one of the most amazing wars if it takes place. With new technology since the previous war we had. I just do not know what to think.

In my oppinion America is the best country in the world.

To whom it concerns my thoughts are with the people who have passed away or been injured in this Terrorist attack. reg

If we go to war, I'm movin to canada.

As much as I hate winter, I'll probably be a neighbor Fralcon.

Roberta the ALIVE puss ::snorts:: reg

It's not about being a puss, it's about fighting for your country, and I don't believe in this country enough to fight for it. I know many people who feel the same.

So why don't you get the hell out of it now you coward?

Sonic reg

Show me where it says you have to fight for a country to live in it, and I will.

I'm a coward because I won't fight for something I don't believe in, nice.

I am horrified by what has happened today. I am without words and am at a lose of what to think would happen in the future.

I lay waiting with baited breath to find out who has done such an atrocity, so that justice can be served.

If my country is in need of me, I would hope everyone would do as I would and give whatever resources it would take to help out. Whether it be through volunteering to help the in need in those areas, giving blood, etc. We as a people need to speak as one voice that what has happened today will not tear us down.

We need to stand behind our leaders setting aside political differences to speak as one voice to the world showing that America as a nation stands strong.

We need spend time in pray with our creator asking that our leaders would seek His guidance for the best decisions.

For those of you who have stated they would go to Canada because of the US going to war, set aside your selfishness and think about why you live in this country. If you don't live here because of what this country stands for, then why do you live here in the first place? reg

You're just some sheltered kid who has NO idea what the real world is like. I've had friends who've lived in the Soviet Union, in Germany, in Korea, in Australia, in England, and they all say the same. America is by far the best place to live. You just take everything for granted. Try living in an occupied Poland during WW2, try living in 3rd world Africa today, then try to tell us how much America sucks.

Sonic reg

Regardless if you believe it in it or not, you owe your country the favor of supporting it in any way you can. If my grandfathers had ever heard me say.."im moving to canada if we get in a war," I think I would of become an outcast to the family. reg
I'm really disappointed to see how many people out of the few that are talking on this board are filthy traitors. It makes me feel sick to know that I serve people like you...

Sonic reg

I think there's been enough insults being flung around on this issue. If you can't be civil to your own fellow board members then you are welcome to post elsewhere.

This isn't just a discussion about some stupid GS topic. In case you haven't realized, this is a pretty important thing. I don't support any sort of censorship whatsoever anytime soon of this thread.

Please never suggest I don't know what the real world is like. I live it everyday just as you do.

I have traveled quite a bit outside of the United States along with developing a lot of personal relationships with people from other countries as I was growing up through student exchange organizations.

I can't see how you would not support the United States with what has happened today. My heart goes out to everyone who was there, their families and anyone else who might have any connects to someone who lives or works in those areas.

I would die for what this country has given to me which I can only give credit to God. This country is very unique and is one of a kind. It has changed over the last couple of generations but I still hold value in the freedoms we have today.

reg

Allright folks thats enough.

Go find some place else to rant and rave.

If I want to hear this garbage I can watch the news.
