Fund Raiser

I just wanted to comment on the fund raise of all the celebrities. I thought it was very awesome seeing all of those celebrities doing the charity work. When Willie Nelson sang that song with everyone, I felt most proud to be an American.

I also thought it was extremely awesome to see Neil Young do Imagine and participate with Pearl Jam. Neil Young has always been one of the most underestimated people in music. I was also glad to see Tom Petty and Paul Simon playing two of their most influential songs. I thought the Marathon was excellent and I hope it raised a ton of money. I noticed when I watched CNN thursday night they said 98 year old Bob Hope was sick with pnemonia. They quoted him to encouarage all Americans to do their part. Bob Hope is one of the most patriotic people of all time. On the other hand I was slightly disapointed to see Ali on the marathon. He was patriotic in a sense when the USA was in its racial state of blacks and whites. Yet he would not go to war for his country. Instead he ran off. Thats why I have always looked down on him. I think he was the greatest boxer of all time and a good person except for the fact that he would not support his country in a time of need. In my honest oppinion him speakings for African Americans, was just more of a selfish thing and he just wanted fair treatment. It will be a sad day when he dies, which will be coming soon. Anyhows I also thought the stories that the celebrity came out saying were outstanding by far.

Lord Deprav
"Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
imane all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one."
~John Lennon~
Just a reminder. reg

I'm not a fan of Ali either. I think he's a racist and I'm not at all sad to see him trembling. He got what he deserved. The best moment in boxing history is when Fraiser floored that loud mouthed scumbag.

Greatest fight in history...I agree.

On the topic of boxing, I really wish the old Iron Mike could have fought guys like Fraiser, Ali, and Foreman. He used to tear people up like it was going out of style. Then he went to prison and started sucking (relatively speaking). I don't really know much about boxing, but I've seen my fair share of HBO Boxing After Darks. Anyone with real knowledge about boxing care to comment on who they think would've won a Tyson vs. [insert heavyweight legend] bout?

Why not make another folder in this off-topic category for boxing? This folder is to express your thoughts on the various efforts to raise funds for the victims of the attacks, and those who gave their lives in their attempt to rescue them.

Thanks

The Celebrity fund raiser was a very good thing, and the best part of it was that the money is going to help ALL of the families of victims, not just the relief workers who are already getting money from the government, the Firemen's relief fund the Policeman's fund, and so many organizations. The rescue workers are courageous and hero's but their families are no more brutalized by their losses than the family of some Administrative Assistant on the 98th floor of tower 1. I had friends who are Rescue workers, I think their families deserve every kind of help they are getting. I just think that the other 3500+ families do too.

I agree that no one touched by this tragedy deserves more compensation than anyone else.

One thing that I think about every day, is that most people will try to get out and escape the danger and horror... policemen, firemen, and rescue personnel willingly meet it head on!

Don't forget the military. Some of us were sent up there also. Many of us are deploying as I type this. Who knows when my unit will go? I won't know till it happens.

Personally, I think we should just get this over with. Nothing is harder on us right now than waiting to do whatever it is we are going to do.

As for the Relief workers... any one up to date on the count? I am clueless, no TV and no time lately. How many dead, missing, or found?
