World Wrestling Federation.

I do not know if anyone out there watches WWF on weekly basis or not but I was watching smackdown tonight and Paul Heyman was just on. Its real sad what they did to him. Everything that came out of his mouth was so true. And yet they had one of his best friends come in the ring and choke him out. The even sadder thing is though, Jerry Laywler is who really started wrestling. He created what wrestling is today. And he was fired but Vince McMahon. Just like Hogan who made WWF big, just like Bret Hart who made souvenirs profitable and advertising exist, Ric Flair who made it exciting, and Sean Micheals who made the bad guys popular with fans. All were fired by Vince, the billionaire. Paul Heyman may have always played the jerk throughout his career but all the wrestling that is seen now was totally created by him. He made it a more realistic sport yet Vince changed it to Sports entertainment. Feel free to comment if your a fan or just feel like sharing your info.

It's funny because I was having this conversation just a few nights ago with someone. It's really sad what wrestling has become. I used to be heavy into wrestling back in the early to mid 80's..even then I was young, and I knew wrestling was "scripted" but atleast it was interesting to watch...these guys went out there and wrestled..executed moves..even though they knew who was going to win the match, they had an ability, a talent, and it was shown. Now? You get Monday Night Raw, Raw is War or whatever the (censored) they are calling it now--2-3 hours long and you're lucky if you see 4 matches--and when you do, 9 times out of 10 you see a couple of good moves, mostly kicks and punches til someone else gets involved or picks up an object and the match is DQ'ed. The rest? Everyone doing interviews or screaming and scantly clad (or naked) women running all over the place. Atleast that was what it was when I gave up on it a few years back. It's not even Sports Entertainment anymore, it's just a violent, idiotic soap opera.

I saw on CNN Monday or Tuesday that the WWF had to lay off a lot of people..I figured once the shock factor wore off with what Vince McMahon was doing, this would happen. It would be nice if somehow things could return to the way it was back in the day...

--by the way, what's the deal with ECW? Anyone know? I haven't kept up on that. reg

I miss The Ultimate Warrior. But I miss Mankind (Mic Foley) most of all. Want to see some real good wrestlin'? I mean real "wrastlin'"? Rent, or buy Stranglmania. It's hosted by the Insane Clown Posse, but they're hilarious commentators, I'll give them that. It's located in Japan or somewhere in the Orient. It's hilarious, and it's great wrestling, too. Well worth the 2 bucks to rent, heck, I bought it.

Yes Stranglemania is located in Japan.

ECW was bought out by Vince McMahon, just like WCW. He has made it all sports entertainment. And they have a pay per view this weekend which will fire alot of guys for sure. We'll see what happens

The Ultimate Warrior--do you remember a few years ago when WCW brought him back for a bit to go against "Hollywood Hogan" and the NWO? That was awful, they made him look like such a moron. In his first interview (you know when he was in the ring talking for like an hour) he used some word that didn't even exist..I forget exactly what it was, but I remember watching it with a couple of people and we all were like "What?!" That WCW stint I think did nothing for him..he was pretty entertaining to watch in the WWF though...same thing with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake...great in the WWF..then he had that parasailing accident and came back to wrestle in WCW as "The Booty Man" (What the hell is a Booty Man anyway?) and he quickly became a joke.

I might watch just to see if there are any of the good people left from when I stopped watching..like Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Christian, Rob Van Dam..and some of the Luchadors.

OH! I can't believe I forgot to ask!! What about Al Snow?! Is he still around? I loved that guy!! As sad as this is going to sound I will admit it...I was actually inspired to roleplay a lunatic ranger who's soul mate was a stuffed ranger doll in Gemstone from watching Al Snow and Head. reg
What does everyone want! Head!

Yah he is around once in a while. Rob Van Damne is in but Sabu, The Sandman, and Balls Mahoney have not made any appearances. Goldberg, Sting, Flair, The Steiners, and Nash and some others are finished too. I only really liked Sting out of there anyways.

And Yes I remember it like it was yesterday when they brought back the ultimate warrior. It was weird I rarely ever watched WCW but I watched the NWO form, return of the Horseman, Return of ultimate warrior, return of Harlem Heat, Lex Luger taking the WCW away from Hogan after having it for like a year in the NWO. I seen some interesting things throughout the years.
