Welcome, what do you want in a message board?

This topic is for people just signing up or people who have been signed up for a while.

Feel free to post ideas on what you as a member want. This board is for the members not for me to earn cash off banner ads, or me to dictate how you should talk, act or behave. I will set some general rules, and I am pretty fair on most things.

So what do you think?

11:14 PMAs for the no Tsoran thing. I will say this. Becoming a Administrator here is going to be very, very difficult. Mainly because this resides on a machine in my house. I do not want the wrong people getting access to that. I also do commercial sales of webhosting and that is another reason there will be very few Administrators. Infact I am almost 100% satisfied with only having one other Admin.

I would like to see Tsoran post on these boards as he is full of usefull information. The decision to let him become a moderator, will be the same as for anyone else. Nobody here will get special treatment. If you are a moderator/admin already its because I felt you could do your job, and do it well.

Welcome Dekrid and LordDeprav and thanks for supporting this BBS.

How will this BBS get popularity and attract members? By keeping the actual board interesting word will spread about it and people will want to see what this BBS has to offer. I'm very glad to hear that you will spread the word and the more support and members these boards can get, the more opinions and dynamic these boards will be. On the official boards I personally post the URL to these boards underneat my name when I sign my post. I am a usual poster on the official boards so eventually people who read my opinions on those boards will click on the link. Hopefully when they do they will be interested in these boards and see the neat and fun topics we have to offer and decide to become a member.

Feedback on what you think will make these boards more interesting are encouraged and welcomed. Feel free to IM me or e-mail me.

01:17 AMHow about a bunch of different smiley faces to use. The other boards used to have a big list of choices i thought were pretty fun.

02:14 AMi second that one. Cracks Smiley's were great. i still have the smiley key from way back when with all the wierd faces. Had it backed up before the board crash. Have most of the individual files too i think.

03:37 AMAlready got what I wanted. The folders actually turn pink when they contain new messages.

The lights on the first page are alright to let you know where there are new posts...but rooting through all the topics within each forum is a drag.

Glad that ain't like that here.

The reason there is no general folder like on the other board is that people then start posting everything in it and it becomes the most packed folder even though more then half the information in it has a place somewhere else. I think this way people have to spread their posts out and not cram almost everything into one folder. Anyone else think differently?

Oh one more comment... the heart of the other folder is in no way the General Gemstone folder. It's The Flames Folder.

11:05 PMFor me, I don't want to read all the folders all the time and so sometimes I'll just read the general folder, much easier. And sometimes I just don't know where to post something. You can't have a catagory for everything...
