Moderator Introduction and Guidelines

Thank you for concidering being a part of maintaining The Gemstone III Player's Corner. As a moderator you will be able to help make sure that posts made in their respective folders remain ontopic and refrain from being abusive. The more this BBS grows, the more help we will all need to keep things under control to ensure that good solid information is being posted. This requires the moderator to keep his calm and cool when dealing with posters who are posting objectional content and it also requires the moderator to follow T.O.S and set an example. The moderator however isn't only here to simply edit or delete posts, as a moderator you have an active and important role in the direction of the message boards. Your opinion on how to improve the overall quality of the boards is important and all moderators and administrators can work as a team to keep these boards with a high level of quality. We expect that you are knowledgable in the topic you wish to moderator and are able to respond to members questions, comments, or concerns at once every 2 days. Also because we want to make sure that every moderator feels equal we will restrict the amount of folders a single moderator can maintain to 2. This may seem like an easy task at first, but when the amount of posters start growing and a topic is currently in a heated debate where it may seem like objectional content or abusive flames are being posted it can be hard to try to keep it all under control.
Once you become a moderator you will have access to the moderator folder. That folder is the place for you to make your concerns and let your opinion about the boards known so that others can discuss it with you. Each folder will have 2 moderators available maximum, however that doesn't mean that your input for other folders doesn't count or isn't nessecary. If your topic seems to be dead, or not getting many responses we hope that perhaps you can find some interesting information on your own that you can post in that folder to give it some interest.
Moderators are chosen by the administrators and other moderators. Once you've completed this form and have e-mailed it to an administrator, they will then post it in the moderator folder so that current members can have a look at it and we can discuss it over. I wish to stress out that the goal on these boards in regards of the moderators and administrators is to work as a team. These boards belong to all of us, the posters, the moderators, the administrators and it's important to keep that attitude alive in every decision that is made.
