The Players Corner Archive

Player's Corner E-Mail address and services

Feel free folks to e-mail Buckwheet or I and request a Gemstone III Player's Corner e-mail address. You can use the address with Outlook Express or most other e-mail programs and it's not a forwarding system, it's an actual address.

Example would be:

kranar@gsplayers.com

Basically:

yourname@gsplayers.com

Many things for you members to take advantage of and make use of to make these boards more of a community. Soon we'll be expanding even further and have a main page that will link to other "Player Corners" for you to make a website.

Right now you can check out:

kelood.gsplayers.com

And best of all, it's free. We're still looking for more moderators to help out with the expansion to this community, so drop us a note. The more help we can get from you guys, the better this place can be and the more we can grow.

This site is setting new records by the week on its usage, visits, aswell as hits and we're all looking into new ideas and services to offer to continue exceeding those records. So keep the ideas coming folks, it's appreciated.

Just a couple other things.

When you get your e-mail address that also allows you to have web space and it will give you a domain. All at the same time.

I currently do not have TOS for the webhosting, so please e-mail me with what you site will be before you FTP in and upload things.

You have MySQL, PHP, CGI to work with right now. If you need other web packages drop me a note and I will see what I can install.

A question..

This is something you have to request, right? Mail isn't going to just be sent to me by siara.playerwhatever, is it? reg

Not sure what you mean Siara.

Current you do not have a e-mail address or domain on my server. So you are currently not getting any e-mail.

If you want to have a gsplayers.com e-mail address, then you can recieve e-mail from anyone you give that address too. I will not be publishing the e-mails.

How it works right now since I don't have my front page written or anything, is you drop me a note with what type of page you want, or if you just want e-mail. I will then add you to my box, setup the e-mail, create your login, etc. I will then send you an e-mail telling you what the pop3 and smtp server are for setting up your e-mail program.

When you send me an e-mail please include the password you would like to use. I haven't finished writing the intro message that gets sent to a new user telling them how to telnet in and change their password.

If you have any questions just let me know.

Oh yeah, you can have you e-mail aliased as well.

Like what Buckwheet said... you have to e-mail him with a request.

Once you've e-mailed him, there are a couple of steps you have to follow to get the e-mail to work with Outlook Express, or whatever e-mail program you use, takes around 5-10 minutes but after that your e-mail address will be:

siara@gsplayers.com

Thanks, Buck and Kranar. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't an automatic-type thing.

I've now had to block 'GS3Aura' from personal IMs and e-mails... I do not want to be bothered doing that with even more of the jerks.

Because I do have a different outlook on GS than several here, basically being called a 'suck-up' because I don't share the same distaste for GMs that many on these boards do, I do not want unsolicited e-mails.

Thanks for 'splaining ::grins:: reg

Well Siara,

I am sure that if/when you decide to have a gsplayers address I can send you all sorts of e-mails. Maybe you and I could swap some and get a good laugh.
