Buyers advice and warnings....

Few things I have learned over the course of doing RL sales...Here it is.

Ebay purchases...

1. Make sure you do it Via Paypal.
2. Make sure the seller is a Verified Paypal user.
3. When sending the funds to the seller, put the ebay auction on the invoice to him. MAKE sure you got the name of the character on it. When he accepts it. It is considered a contract\deal, whatever you want to call it. If he does not give you what you purchased you can sue him for fraud. Don't listen to anyone that says you can't.
4. If you get scammed. Contact me at LordEdgeleaf via AIM. I will put in in contact with a lawyer that has dealt many times with Gemstone scam victims.

For the sellers...

If you are accepting payment Via Paypal. An you have to accept the payment. Make sure you go back to your account info and it is cleared. Seems a few people are sending enchecks, which look like you received. Until you go back to the account info. Once you hand them the items\silvers they cancel the echeck. Has not happened to me yet. But I double check my paypal account.

Also, check your Paypal account. Not your email. People like to send emails that look like you was sent money Via Paypal. But wasn't.

Any questions or my explanations confused you. Feel free to post them so everyone can see the answers. Trying to get a lawyer to answer all questions asked on here.

What about out of eBay sales? If you send the payment to a verified Paypal user who does not deliver, will PayPal refund your money?

As a seller I always document in the invoice, Billpoint or PayPal, how many coins, character(s), or item(s) I agree to sell that person for said amount. I also agree to meet them in game to show them what they are buying. From a buyers perspective I normally expect the same sort of thing when I'm purchasing something. Does anybody do anything else to help safe guard themselves against fraudulent sales? reg

Ebay\Paypal will not refund your money anymore. They give you a warning about buying and selling copyrighted materials. But fraud is illegal period. So you have to do it yourself, through legal means. Which means getting a lawyer you will sue for the item and compensation. Which means. The lawyer can petition Ebay\Paypal for all the information on the sale. Which means, rock solid case if you did it the way I said.

Seems I ran into some problems with buying a character over ebay. I bought the character and payed through check so I didnt have paypal backing me. I remembered Edge's post about how he got ripped and IMed him to ask him about it. He then told me to contact Lord Jacce, his lawyer. I talked to Jacce and we worked out a price sheet that was more than reasonable, IG silver, and proceeded to prosecute. The next day after a letter was sent to tell the guy I was prosecuting I had recieved the info I needed for my character and am now a Happy Costomer.
Thanks Edge and Jacce! reg
Edgeleaf, if you purchase a character for silver or an item and the seller does not deliver, what happens then?
