Forest Green Brig

04:36 PMI heard a rumor that Forest Green Brig is selling for a minimum bid of 6 million now.

What is so appealing about this armor?

05:27 PMIt's +17, decently crit padded, and full-coverage brig. Just about every class (including casters) can get into brig, some as the highest level of armor they will ever wear, so it's in demand and very popular.

Just the decent crit padding alone makes it great armor because it was the last padded armor released by a merchant in a couple/few years. It sold originally for something like 400k - 500k (around there) and was purchased in large quantities. The price started rising when it became clear there weren't going to be padded armors released into the game again until breakage. It's since skyrocketed to an unbelievable price.

Is it worth 6 mil? No, I don't think so. When it was being sold for 2 mil, I thought it was extravagent. When it was 1 mil, I probably would have paid it. The price is likely going to drop when breakage is released. No one is going to be willing to pay 6 mil for armor that might break and go *poof* in a month. Right now, it has good breakage numbers - 99/250. But they've already said those numbers are going to change, and at SimuCon this year I personally asked Ophion if he was changing brig numbers and he said yes. Plus, it won't be in such high demand once they start releasing other padded armors back into the game through merchants.

My advice is, if you don't absolutely need it now, don't buy it yet. If you hold off till breakage is released, you'll get a much better deal and have more choices.

If I had to buy it today at 6 mil, I would do it personally, countless times my brig saves my rear end and even surprises me "Wow! That was a 220 end roll to my neck and I live!".

Luckily mine only cost 2 mil.

Oh, I *totally* agree it is wonderful armor. Many, many times it has saved my behind. Plus, I got mine altered totally by surprise by a merchant who was just sitting around the well in Icemule like a regular joe. It's probably my most favorite possession, and it is a fantastic armor.

Luckily, I bought three sets at the original merchant in River's Rest two or three years ago when it was first sold. I kept one, gave one away to a friend for free, and sold one about a year ago for 3 mil. I thought I was ripping the guy off, but he said I could have gotten more for it if I'd held out.

But I still don't think I'd pay 6 mil for it :P

12:04 AMFGB is heavily crit padded not decently, and it HAS been going for 6mil recently. And some of the cash sellers have been getting $120 for it..

04:44 AMYa, it's heavy crit padded. As for being worth 6m. It is worth it. Seeing that you need at least heavy crit padding the rift if you are a non redux character. Also, you will never need anything better. DS is not going to be the major killer in the older ages. CM attacks and voids.

The next step up is the poliched silver-studded leather that is 4x and very heavy crit padded. Which is going for 30m+. I sold a set for 35m. That is the best off the shelf armor that was produced.

I still have a set if anyone is interested in the polished silver-studded leathers. But you will have to make a very nice offer to get me to sell my last set.

At Simucon they announced no more padded armor will be sold until breakge comes out.

So the only people able to get padded armors are GH\Sages\GMs. Which seems unfair to me. Ya, they can get tons of stuff. But that is something that they say is unbalancing the game. All the padded armor and so on. But yet they keep pumping it in the lands.
