I would advise any Cleric trained in Spell Aim to try hunting Corpses with 306, I get a lot of 1 hit or 2 hit kills there's, and the Corpses are plentiful.
Lil Excerpt from my hunting trip...
Level 27 Dwarven Cleric, Fully singled in Spell Aim, with 100 Dex and own spells/signs VS Level 32 Rotting Corpse.
>You concentrate on the Holy Bolt spell...
Your spell is ready.
>
You gesture at a rotting corpse.
You hurl a stream of holy water at a rotting corpse!
AS: +249 vs DS: +99 with AvD: +37 + d100 roll: +93 = +280
... and hit for 160 points of damage!
Acid bath empties chest. It's a lot cleaner now.
The rotting corpse wails in terrifying pain one last time and lies still.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Please fell free to post other tactics you use when hunting various critters.
PS. Also found 306 very useful when I used to hunt Wraiths too.

Mmk, I'm a Varunar expert, so a few things to run down here. It's a great place for clerics. If you can live there, you'll own the corpses. Otherwise they'll own you, no middle ground.
1. 100 dex, good god Roa'tars are EVIL. 100 dex helps fight them.
2. I assume you're maxed in CM
3. I assume no armor (better dodging against roa'tars).
4. Young clerics will get feared if they try to run to the Varunar node. They have to use the caravansary.
Varunar is a clerics haven in every which way (except those evil Roa'tars, which had a tendancy to swarm every now and then, at least when I hunted there). A relatively high dex makes the place easier, as does mobiles. Just a little friendly hunting advice.
Pookas are also an option for the repeller. Let's be honest here, after 33/34 shadow valley is the ONLY place for a cleric for a while. reg
