Clerical Armor

I plan on single training armor use for quite a while, having poured over so many guides suggesting to do that. If I continue with this training, at what levels should I expect to upgrade my armor (meaning, at level X I should be in X)?

Wear double leather at 6 trainings, brig armor at 30 trainings, and then keep your brig until chain hauberk for the rift.

That's my advice for ya...

Wow, thanks for the speedy response! Had enough time to get something to drink and come back to read your message. ::Grins::

I've got one other question for you. I've read the different guides floating about regarding the two societies. It seems that Voln is pretty redundant, having symbols that echo the clerical spell list whereas those other guys offer more signs that differ from current clerical magics.

Is Voln or that other group more beneficial for a cleric? (Keep in mind, I have my RP intentions in mind but would like to hear strictly functional opinions so I can see if one outweighs the other.)

Great, you've already thought about the RP reasons. I can state reasoning from a pure mechanical point of view now.

I will assume that as a cleric, you have chosen a race that has a good, or at least decent, spirit recovery rate. This is good for CoL for a start.

As you so rightly said, the voln symbols list reads like a clerics spells list. I have never understood any clerics joining Voln for non-RP reasons.

You get more power from CoL, signs to do just about everything. Whereas the Voln symbols you will have the spells/abilities anyway.

On the side of Voln, clerics can hunt undead pretty easily as most of our spells are undead related in one way or another. So favor should never be a problem. Symbol of Preservation is quiet nice too.

All in all CoL is the place to go for the power as a Cleric, and for anyone considering over the 2 societies from a pure mechanical point of view, then CoL is the way to go.

Weigh your RP reasons against the mechanical reasons and see what you come up with, it's the best advice you can get.

I have a level 12 halfling pure brawling cleric who uses voln fu. Is quite a lot of fun altho when older and fu loses its luster he probably will go to CoL. Just wanted to point out that voln also has the option of fu and the use of the tapestry once mastered.
