Detuning the airship spider cloak

How do I "unnatune" this damn thing?
I had about half a dozen people tell me all I had to do was to raise it twice and it would be all right. I've tried that several times, different ways(each hand, etc.) and so far have died twice and been poisoned/webbed numerous times. As fun as it is to
see the shocked looks in the park when my own cloak attacks me, I'm getting a little frustrated.
Does it have to be the original owner that "detunes" it? I've been assured by many that that isn't the case but I haven't found anyone who's actually done it either. reg

I did it just a couple weeks ago with my cloak. It doesn't have to be the -original- owner who un-attunes it, but it does have to be the -current- owner. That person raises the cloak twice and hands it over to whoever is going to own the cloak now. When the new owner wears the cloak, it becomes attuned to them. Before the new owner can pass the cloak off to yet another owner, they have to raise the cloak twice to un-attune it. Again, the next person to then wear the cloak gets it attuned to them, and so on.

Hope that helps.

P.S. Can anyone tell me how to break up a quote so I can respond to each part? Thanks.

use ubb tags [command] [/endcommand] like so.

The standard format for quotes is

quote
Orginally posted by : name
b

/b
/quote

But all subsequent quotes by the same person can be just quote and b (bold), or for the lazy quoter like me, just quote.

'lood
brackets left off so theyd show up... reg

Wow.. well, let me see how good I am at following directions ;-)

If it worked, that was quote one...

If that worked, it was quote two... (forgive my experimenting here, chalk it up to newbie-itis)
