Helping, Or Mechanics Abuse?

In the middle of the invasion last night, a fellow rogue asked me to go to the graveyard and grab his dead "friend". As usual, I didn't stop and think, and was more than willing to help. I found the friend and took him back to the Courtyard, not really giving the incident too much thought.

Later, I was told NEVER to do that again, that I could get in trouble for Mechanics Abuse. I had been bitten before for not realizing I had stumbled across a bug, so I try to be more careful now, but I really didn't even stop and think that this was Mechanics Abuse.

Once it was explained to me, I could kind of see the problem, but in the middle of an invasion, I didn't think about it. Apparently, my friend has two characters on his account, the first character died and he logged off and brought up his second character to ask for help. His second character died and while he was waiting for life, he asked me to go to the Graveyard and bring back the other guy.

Could I really get in trouble for helping my friend in that situation? And what if I didn't know that both characters were his? I just hate to have to stop and think about all this "abuse" business!

I don't see why you would get in trouble for helping someone if you don't know the situation. I can understand it being abuse, but that's abuse at his end, not yours. You're just helping someone who died. ::shrugs::

Perhaps if you knew that he was playing two characters and helped, you would be assisting in the abuse, but not if you're unaware of it.

That's a rather odd dilemna. Maybe you can assist and ask a GM how he feels about it? reg

People do that all the time. I would like to see em try to enforce it being mechanics abuse.

That's not mechanics abuse.

It's not even multi-accounting. And since multi-accounting isn't outlawed (yet, hopefully ), you should be in the clear.
