Honestly Cruelaq, I new you were new to the game, I attempted to help you, but all you want to do is be obnoxious.

Three of my friends have sent me logs in IM's of them killing you for being annoying, I told them to lay off because you were new, and hopefully you'd learn the ropes eventually, you obviously have no plans for doing anything but being obnoxious, so if you come around me, look at me, touch me, slap me, or initiate contact of any type with me, I'll report you for harrassment. reg

um....

I will come to the boulder and single handedly rape every single person there, on my cleric OR my sorcerer. What a bunch of newbies wasting time and deeds, likely chockng up nice warnings on your accounts. Go hunt and get to a decent age, then try to fight. Let the kids have fun and don't try to stop them from poaching- I poach in the rift all day.

Grhim, your just pissed cause you got your ass handed to you after you casted at me cause i slapped you

[hint hint.. PVP] so shut up nutface

i also find it funny Jesebelle. that you ran to wayside inn and called a GH down immediately after you killed us.

Also, that when the GH left, you ran up into the Garret and pleaded for your life reg

Jaeden might be able to kill everyone on the boulder.. cus hes a sorcerer of good age.

Zentalin would get raped by a few of the boulderites in a 1 on 1... Heh clerics don't fare very well...

I honestly don't care, if levelling, and PvP is all you think there is to gemstone, then do it away from me. By the way Cruelaq, I won't tell everyone what actually happened, because as I've stated PvP doesn't matter to me, it's violation of policy, and I'll report you for it if I catch you doing it. reg

You poached my manticore. i slapped you, you then casted some stupid spell at me which failed. i attempted to throw some fire at you. you were spelled up so it didnt connect. i got my boil earth rod and killed you

you started it by casting at me. which is unconsentual PVP. also, i have no goddamn clue what you are talking about. saying what really happened.. please.. tell me and everyone else more reg

I'd say the slap was the first unconsented PvP action in this scenario, which asked for a spell in return.

Of all the hunting places in the landing, the thraks and manticore area is the last place you want to yell about poaching, since there are usually at least a dozen of those furry things constantly running from one area to another. I guess this was just an excuse to kill someone I suppose.

------------------
Don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things. reg

.... i dont see how you think the slap was the first attack of PvP. i slapped him once. slapping isnt an attack reg
You still have a LOT to learn Cruelaq, in this game just because there isn't an attack roll doesn't mean it wasn't an attack. Hopefully you'll learn it before you get perma-banned.

And I'm sure anyone on these boards who has even heard of me knows I don't "poach" kills. reg

Heh, try slapping someone in real life just because they cut you off in a line somewhere. Let me know what happens, ok? reg
Try cutting someone's face open with a sword irl, then tell me what happens, ok?

------------------
I got no dukes. reg

Actually, slapping someone across the face with a glove or gauntlet was one of the original ways to invite someone to a duel. If it's NOT an invite to CvC, it should be.

Aerienne reg

Oooh...where do I start...

First, Ring....

There are absolutely no consent issues in poaching kills.

You were the first one there to violate policy. Blatantly.

Second...you were spell tanked to the teeth. On mants and thraks? God. That's...pathetic. Logically they used boil to get around yer ridiculous amount of spells.

You'd probably obliterate a lot of the folks on the boulder Zentalin....but what training are you? Impressiveness in combat is defeating those older or equivalant age to yourself.

Grhim...why let it get to you? If people are bothering you...don't pay attention to their nonsense.

reg

I'm speaking of this situation, Fralcon, where he is saying that getting slapped is okay, and I'm saying it's not okay. Just because you don't see rolls and there isn't any actual physical harm doesn't make it any less of an attack.

And if I cut someone's face with a sword, I'd get killed. I don't see how this has anything to do with the situation. reg

Seems to be shifting away from the initial discussion....which appears to be a rather lame attack on people for stealing kills. reg

Uh, you wouldn't get killed, you'd get arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The point that flew oh so far over your head that I was trying to make is that you can't compare GS to real life in these type of situations. Unless you can go invisible and shoot fire at people irl, your comparison is moot.

------------------
I got no dukes. reg

Most GM's agree that a slap is not consent to CvC, I say most because with simu staff there is never a complete agreement. You can go around slapping people til your hand falls off, but if someone kills you for it, can be pretty sure they will get in trouble and not you. What you're supposed to do is report them for disturbance or some crap. It's lame, but that's how it is.

------------------
I got no dukes. reg

I've never heard a GM say that it's not consent if you slap someone. Just because you don't see it as an attack doesn't mean you can say that everyone else does too. If you report someone because they slapped you in character, I highly doubt the GMs will help you out.

As for the real life reference, it was to show that you can't go around slapping people and not get retribution for it. Just because the game doesn't give you a bruise on make you lose a point of blood doesn't make it less of an attack.

*Heh, took out one too many lines.

[This message has been edited by CrystalTears (edited 04-22-2002).] reg

Just as a CYA, if someone slapped my character, I would glance at them, and ask if they were challenging me to a duel. The consent would be in their response. If they were young, I'd just thump them.

Aerienne

reg

Slaps cannot be tolerated.

Ryever Drakkalon. reg

First of all I was astounded to see the amount of spells that anyone hunting thraks would use and not be embarassed.

Second, slapping people may or may not be officially acceptable as an invite to cvc but keep slaping people and getting into "situations" and watch the cloud of HMC status roll closer and closer.

reg

Well let me try to be clearer since it's obvious I was misunderstood.

If someone slaps you, and you report, no gm is gonna help you, I didn't mean to imply that.

If someone slaps you, you attack them and kill them, and they report, you will more than likely get in trouble unless it's a first offense.

If someone slaps you, and you tell them to stop, and they keep on slapping you every time they see you, and you report them, they will more than likely get in trouble for harassment.

Now I don't know if this is even on topic anymore, so I'll just leave it at that. For now.

This is wrong, I've spoken with several GM's about what is/isn't cvc consent, and the general concensus is that if you are in a roleplayed conflict, they can, with no repercussions, bring it to a physical level. This is from Kennesaw's mouth, you can debate it all you want, but it's the way things are.

A physical attack doesn't require a to hit roll. reg

Scenario:

Deathwish slaps Kraiz upside the head!

Kraiz gestures and utters a phrase of magic
Kraiz gestures at Deathwish.
A void rips open in the area, directly above Deathwish!
Rather abrupt decompression causes Deathwish to explode!
Billions and billions of tiny Deathwish bits shower everything.
Quite severely dead.
Everything in the room seemed to stay in place. The void disappears without further incident.

Period.

Actually it's not. He's just correcting this line:

From what I see, he's saying YOU wouldn't get in trouble, if you were RPing the conflict out, based on current GM consensus.

Thanks Niexist. It's good to know for future reference.
