Okay, I am in need of a new outfit. I lean towards pretty, ultra feminine items. I'd love a new skirt, and am curious what others can come up with.

The basics are a gold skirt. What can you do with this?

Aerienne reg

A long full skirt woven with golden thread and embroidered with silver and green vinework along the hem.

I'm late! But..

a flowing skirt layered with gossamer swirls of amber and gold silk

Very pretty. If Aerie were a classical character, Berta's is beautiful and would look wonderful on her. Since she goes for the more wispy look, I think the flowing skirt suits her very well.

I might even have one of the old flowing white skirts in my locker to use, since flowing is on the banned list. (How can it flow if it's in your locker?)

Going out of town for a week, and I won't have access to my regular email box. Please email me at LadyAerienne@yahoo.com through Sunday, February 10th.

(I missed someone's email over my holiday break, and I felt badly. So I will post when I am away so y'all don't think I am ignoring ya.)

Going out of town again, so all emails to LadyAerienne@yahoo.com until Wed. March 20.

Thanks!

Well, I was trying to do up a little sack as follows:

"A silver mesh foraging sack" SHOW: You notice the foraging sack is a network of intricately weaved silvery silken cords, fastened at the top with a small platinum leaf clasp."

However, the GM won't allow "foraging" because "You can't look at the sack and see that it's a foraging sack for foraging." (BOGUS) anyway...The GM suggested small or large but everyone and their mother has one of those...so if anyone is up to bouncing a few ideas around, maybe I can get some help getting a nice little sack : )

Well since they allow trailers:

A silver mesh sack with bits of twigs sticking through the fabric

SHOW: A network of intricately woven silken cords fasten at the top with a small platinum leaf clasp. Bits of twigs and leaves from various herbs stick through the silver mesh, alluding to its purpose.

(edited to change "weaved" to "woven" - DOH!)

Oooh, I like it! Thanks, Desh! reg
Okay is there some ban on the use of platinum as a metal (in this instance, it would be used as the metal for a sack's clasp) that I'm unaware of? Or am I getting "the business" so to speak?

Princess, they aren't really giving you the business. Platinum is one of those metals that arrived in Elanthia via the GMs who weren't paying attention to metals native to Elanith. If you do Shift Metal in the game, you won't find platinum on the list (or you can check the thread here on Metallurgy, by setting the BBS to search thru the past year in this folder.)

Some GMs might allow it, or not know it's not an approved metal. You also might be able to get it in the long but not the show... You will also have more luck with a live merchant than thru Sadie, as your Sadie seems to be a stickler and a half. (Khaladon, perhaps?) But the overall policy is to not use it.

As for the design Desh offered, you might have difficulty in getting that as she is offering both a long and a show, and 99% of merchants make you choose one or the other, not both. You can ask for it, and have something like this as a back-up.

A leaf-clasped silver mesh sack
SHOW: Supple yet sturdy silver mesh has been used to create a sack suitable for foraging. Several tiny twigs have managed to work their way through the strong weave, attesting to it's long-use by a forester. The sack is bound at the top with several long silken silvery cords that entwine around a small platinum leaf clasp.

Maybe if you were willing to lie on the bed in some sleazy East St. Louis bed and breakfast posing in a provacative manner for Whatley, perhaps you'd not only get the alter you want, but a new 2002 Trans Am and a shiney new set of silicon breasts, just ask NOI! reg
hmm I might have to inquire about that. ::checks his tits:: reg
I like your alter too, Aerienne. I didn't know Platinum was a no-no substance. My Q is..how come then if it's one of those "gray" areas that some GMs allow and others dont, wouldn't that mean the only time you'd see it would be like..in a specific alter someone requested? Not say, the boutique in EN where you can buy wedding bands like that? (Which is Naori's wedding band, by the way) Just curious cause maybe once again there's another shift in the ever changing tide that is Gemstone...haha..

And Mike with boobs..interesting. Make sure they aren't too big though, you don't want any lawsuits for smothering the recipients of your lap dances to death.

Amazing how worms keep popping up out of the woodwork.

I know what you mean Princess. That platinum items are considered to be a no-no, and yet still make it through the QC process is something I don't understand. What you can do is grab a set of those bands, and give them to the GM as the basis for the leaf. "What, you don't know what platinum is? Lemme give you some from a nearby shop...."

It's the same issue that bugs me about shimmering. I went and spent a ton on shimmering items, only to find out there's a room of shimmering clothing in the boutique in Icemule.

I'm glad you liked the alter. It's always good to go with 3 variations on an item that you like, just in case they turn them down.
