--RECHARGING--

The cost of recharging an item will vary depending on the spell type.

Minor Circle spells can be recharged at the rate of 500 silver * the level of the spell * charges to be put in. (Max determined by Urebririon).

-Example 1: To have 20 charges of 101 (Spirit Warding 1) put in an item, it would cost 500 * 1 * 20 = 10,000 Silvers.

Major Circle spells can be recharged at the rate of 1,000 silvers * the level of the spell * charges to be put in. (Max determined by Urebririon).

-Example 2: To have 20 charges of 202 (Spirit Shield) put in an item, it would cost 1,000 * 2 * 20 = 40,000 Silvers.

Profession Based spells can be recharged at the rate of 2,000 silvers * the level of the spell * charges to be put in. (Max determined by Urebririon).

-Example 3: To have 20 charges of 919 (Wizard Shield) put in an item, it would cost 2,000 * 19 * 20 = 760,000 silvers.

Hahahahahah!

Ya, we going to se reasonable priced stuff!

I said screw merchants long ago. The same goddamn people always make the lists. I've got enough buying power to get what I want anyway. If I like something, I'll just give the owner an offer they can't refuse. Who wants to put up with the hassle of finding a merchant and listening to people kiss ass over and over and over anyway.

Sonic reg

Wonder where he got his tempering potions from?

You other wizards take any offense to a NPC being able to enchant when there is supposedly too much enchanted things in the lands?

I don't see the consistent application of logic here.

Hiway reg

Speaking of overpricing:

You hear the subdued thoughts of Atheana echo in your mind:
"Anyone wanna buy a pinata? 200k each, full of prizes! I've heard that some may have big job tickets in them.. ttm"

Oh yeah, I was asking her if she had 50 of them, i want them all.

By the way, I'm currently selling the deed to the bathhouse, any int? reg

heh i think high prices are good for game, all they trying to do is drain some coins outta this wacked out system...gaze reg
I don't care that merchants can ET and I can't. The old ET system sucked anyway, it was worthless as it was.

Sonic reg

The last enchanter did padded and weighted items. Plus it was tons cheaper. Just don't understand why this is more? Since people paid cash to come to this event in the first place.

It was good for blessable weapons. But thats it.

But was totally surprised they had it in the first place.

edge reg

Just wanted to go on and post something...

I'm not trying to sound like a whiner or anything...but these events simply kill me. I love going 'cause a lot of people that I haven't seen in a while show up...but the greed/lack of RP/and pure idiotic behavior from people is just rediculous.

_Way too many tickets were sold this year_

But it'll definitely make up for some of the lost customer base due to breakage. reg

Oh, come on. That's not the first time I've witnessed yours and Christin's sour grapes. It was a lucky random spin, those happen. It's not like she only altered for Truekillr, she altered for a bunch of other people also.

That's funny that Omni posted that, Seeing as how that was me. Christin is my bard. I never see Truekillr in the game but he always manages to make the merchants and get picked. I wasn't questioning the autheticity of the crystal ball, i don't have any proof to back anything up..but hey if it swims like a fish and smells like a fish..must be a fish! As far as sour grapes, well let's just say i'm new to the bard profession and don't take kindly to insults about my singing from pompas jackass' that think they are better then everyone else. Other then that Christin has never had harsh words with anyone. reg
From Summir's post: "As far as sour grapes, well let's just say i'm new to the bard profession and don't take kindly to insults about my singing from pompas jackass' that think they are better then everyone else."

You may be new to the bard profession, but you're certainly not new to the game...which makes your use of hand/land even more inexcusable.

It's not being a pompous jackass to expect people to honor the gifts of their profession. Hand/land is a convention that has been loathed for years, and people that continue to use it keep adding to the perception that most bards don't care about loresinging or entertaining people.

OMG!!!!! Favortism!

"I think that GM is trying to ruin everybody's good time by picking that guy, he must have tons of GMs IMing him! I mean, who does that guy think he should get picked? He's so lame, he doesn't deserve an alteration at all!"

Now you know how old and retarded favortism claims become after a while.

Bianca

PS. Summir/Christin/whoever else you play, the point of my message had nothing to do with you. reg

snicker i dont know how you can gather favoritism from that bianca but if the same person is chosen over and over again in different merchants, no one can be that lucky... you used a dumb example reg
And how do YOU gather evidence for favortism? Have YOU seen a merchant splotch a cheat message or oh wait.. you've seen them an IM with a GM telling someone where a merchant was? How are YOUR claims of favortism anymore ridiculous than mine?

So.. why is it considered favortism when someone else gets an alteration and you don't?

God forbid anyone has any luck now and then, I haven't seen TK on any list but that one in EG so far. I'm sure everyone likes their parade pissed on by screams of favortism everytime they make a list or get lucky.

First of all how i play my character is none of your business. Second of all you say you'd gladly pull me aside for some instruction, well the whole reason we got angry is the way you went about berating Christin, hence Pompas jackass comment. You publicly humiliated her to her face and on the net which was totally rude and uncalled for. I have never seen anyone berated for using hand/land, where do you think i got it? i have seen it used when i've asked for singing and saw nothing wrong with it. I am not usually playing a bard and don't pay attention to what bards do when i'm not playing one. Guild speak would have been a more polite way or that good old fashioned whispering. No i'm not new to the game but i am new to the bard profession and so far have gotten nothing as far as instruction, just belittling and insults from so called seasoned, entertaining bards. So lesson's from you..No thank you i'll pass.

Bianca i have no idea who you are but i made a prediction in-game and it happened. I didn't accuse or blame anyone. I call it as i see it and as i said in an earlier post, i never see TK in game only at merchants and he always gets picked. Left the conclusions to you folks.

I wasn't talking to you at all in my last message and I have no idea who you are either. But when you (or your buddies) post a log of you (Christin, just to make sure you know which parts of this message is directed to you this time) making a reference to foreknowledge of a player getting picked on a boards notorious for screaming favortism, you are IMPLYING the same thing even when you haven't said a thing.

And for that last log, I always thought those spinners were buggy. THAT DOES NOT MEAN I THINK GM X IS TRYING TO SCREW THE REST OF US OVER WITH FAVORTISM THOUGH. Lemme just get that straight before anyone tries to use my own argument against me. ::chuckle::

Bianca, who calls it how she sees it too

[This message has been edited by Bianca (edited 10-29-2001).] reg

Well doubtful if this will go anywhere...but it had to be said.

1) The spinner/orb/etc scripts random mechanics have been reviewed and examined by onsite staff...and determined to be functioning correctly..

2) Any GM found manipulating the random mechanics to "create" a winner, would be in violation of or our player policy which could lead to termination. If you believe you have witnessed this, I encourage you to write to feedback@simutronics.com.

3) Any GM found releasing NDA material, prior merchant information to a select group of friends or players... likewise is in violation of policy. Please also write to feedback@simutronics.com if you should become aware of this.

We aren't immune to an occasional "bad apple" any more then any other large group of people.

Its nice to see ya Krylan! thanks for explaining dat to me..Its nice to know GM's read here so perhaps you and your coworkers(Other Gm's, although not sure how many read here) can see the opinons of us old timers or newbies as the case may be.. and respond kindly like you did...

Thanks!

P.S Brauden's plans to go on Prozac fall through? <ducks and runs for cover from lighting Bolts> reg

Yup. GMs aren't infallible, and they aren't perfect as real Gods like some of you like to believe.

I know minimum favoritism exists, I'd be lying if I said it didn't. But what majority of the posts here are saying, "SIMU LIVES TO SCREW US OVER!", "Every GM is a favoritism loving bastard!", or "That girl sleeps with a GM to get her stuff!" That's what I don't agree with.

Sorry, I don't click on random porn sites people post. I've got enough of my own, thanks for sharing though.

If the name of the site is any reference to my post, I happen to think the people who constantly scream favoritism and how much the game sucks are the ones who need a vacation or a cancellation to their account. ::wink::

Bianca = contradiction.

Better read your own posts.

Seems you did point a finger at Omni and Christin. In fact. You posted their names specifically.

We can read.

Glad a GM posted to. Thanks.

People like to see them post and like to se the issues we got. These boards do get heated but seems some good comes of it.

In my opinion no GM or anyone who works on the staff should even be allowed to play the product. The knowledge they attain to benefit their own characters is just unreal. To bring your character into a festival with the knowledge of what the breakage is on everything...level of padding/enchant...blessable? sanctified? etc etc is a huge bonus. I know of nothing that says its against policy for a GM to take advantage of an item for sale that is known to be great on breakage. Last year's ebon gate...not sure what the exact descript on the armor was...veniom something or other..I know it sold out like the first night...ended up selling for like 5 or 6 mill a pop after the festival was over because the breakage numbers were so impressive. Mike, how would you expect them to know what condition the game is in if they don't play the game? I, on the other hand, think that GMs should be required into playing a min. amount of hours. You ever hear the phrase, "You won't know what it's like until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes?" I think it fits pretty well in this case. GMs can't know how players feel if they don't play the game. The new, over powering cleric spell circle woulda never been released if Ophion played his PC regularly.

I know what you mean about GMs using their abilities for items though, I'm concerned about that sometime too but when you've seen how everything works as a GM, I don't think anyone would want to go back being just a player. Then again, a GM can answer this for themselves if they're reading.

You can get a good feel for the condition of the game without playing the character.

On these boards? I'd file it under 'smart'. As convinced as several members are concerning GM favoritism, abuse of powers, harassment of players, vendattas against players and manipulation of game mechanics to benefit their characters, I'd assume that GMs are people you don't like. People who support and like the GMs, likewise.

I've seen examples of what happens to people that certain posters don't like. Harassed from other accounts, attacked by throwaway characters, emailed virii, repeatedly killed, gossiped about and quite a few other methods of retribution.

A GM is going to be harder to practice many of those on. Ambush one of their PCs with someone they've never seen and you're going to have a hard time in the CL proving it's not PvP. Do pretty much anything ingame, and they'll be able to come back a lot harder. OOG, well, we saw what happened to Scintillion. You want to push buttons, you might just make something happen.

If you're not staff and you post something that's unpopular, you have nowhere near the defenses available, ingame or out. Why not be smart and keep your identity under wraps so any retribution is focused against what is in essence a throwaway character?

Peace out reg

Be assured...

It's in no way nessecary to post your ingame character on these boards.

Some would say it's appropriate, some would say it's OOC... but there's no reason why anyone should feel obliged to reveal their character.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that it's not who says it that's important, it's what they say.

Cowardly I say. I will say that to anyone's face.

I have had voids chase me all over the rift till it killed me. I have had super monster appear to kill me. I use to get robbed blind until I started doing that to people that harrassed me.

This is where all the frustrated players come. Where we voice our concerns. You know what. It gets heard by the staff better the the official boards. Amazing isn't it Specto?

You can come here and say we cry. But you are the one crying about us crying. Which is worse? That is the great thing about these boards. They are uncensored for the most part.

But to say insults behind a name that is not you. That is cowardly. Amazing how many people made threats to me. Saying I am going to kick your arse at Simucon and so on. When I went both times. Nobody went through with that. Amazing how brave you are behind a monitor. So, I consider people that do it...Cowards. Not smart. Scared in fear.

NOI tried posting a dare to me on her site. She removed it most likely because I will do it. One thing I am not. A coward.

Also, Specto is in fear of his PC getting hurt.

lol

And I am the one that is suppose to be making stuff up?

lol

Amazing. When I said I would tell you to your face that you are a coward. No way implies that I am going to hit you. But knowing how scared you are. Where you can't even post your name shows that you are that scared. I am sorry if I scare you, or make you cry.

But I did say that people like you have made threats to me the last to years. That when I do go to Simucon. They backed down from those threats. Seeing that you are so much braver behind a PC screen. I think that is a cowardly act. So that must make you type of people cowards.

edge reg

You know Bianca and Specto. You are most likely people that harass me in gemstone. Then come here to harrass me under false names. If you think thats not cowardly or in need of help. Then I don't know what is.

There is a reason other then worrying about harrassment, why people use false names. Nice of you to try and say it is otherwise.

I don't harrass anyone ingame till they harrass me. If I did, I would be banned perma already. You know they are waiting for ANY excuse to ban me. So nice of you to show your true colors on these boards.

I have posted so many logs of people picking fights with me. I think I have more harrassment aimed at me then you both combined. But I am not scared. I can take it.

Mike says: In my opinion no GM or anyone who works on the staff should even be allowed to play the product. The knowledge they attain to benefit their own characters is just unreal.

I agree.

Mike says: You can get a good feel for the condition of the game without playing the character.

They can watch anything going on at any given time without participating.

Again i agree.

From Bianca's post: Mike, how would you expect them to know what condition the game is in if they don't play the game? I, on the other hand, think that GMs should be required into playing a min. amount of hours. You ever hear the phrase, "You won't know what it's like until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes?" I think it fits pretty well in this case. GMs can't know how players feel if they don't play the game. The new, over powering cleric spell circle woulda never been released if Ophion played his PC regularly.

Well if i'm not mistaken about 98% of staff were players before GM's. They have walked the mile and been in our shoes. I think that makes for a better GM, to know what is wrong and right in game. They play alot more then you think they do. And i'm sure that Ophion along with quite a few other GM's tested and retested and had fun with the clerical spells before putting them out. You can bet they walk amongst us almost daily. reg

Edge, I wish you would really take a step back and try to not to verbally assault those that disagree with you on these boards.
Calling someone a coward because they do not wish to post their Gem name is simply uncalled for and counter productive. We should be able to disagree here even strongly without having to resort to name calling.
Why do you need to know who they are in Gem? Do you wish to take actions in the game against them? Will you discount their point of view if they are low level or something? Even if one of those posting here was one of the one you say harass you, they should be able to speak here as freely as yourself. I just fail to see what impact it should have in any way on the conversation.

I understand about frustrations with turns the game has taken. I really do, but you take things so personally when there just doesn't seem a reason to do so.

I also think there is no reason to rail on so about GM favoritism as if you are Paul Revere alerting an unsuspecting populace to the redcoats.
Most actually _are_ aware that due to human weakness some favoritism will occur no matter what steps are taken to try to avoid it. I think most feel that most GMs and Hosts do their best to be fair.
If you have had a time where you were on the losing side of some favoritism I'm sorry, but you should not take that one or two bad times and use them to negate all the other times that the effort is made and better judgement is shown.

In general, just try not to take everything that happens in the lands as a personal attack. It's at best not helpful, and at worst quite egotistical to think that there is some conspiracy among a group out just to get you.
This game is supposed to be fun, please don't let it make you miserable.
reg

..whatever Edge, trying to debate with you is like trying to convince some paranoid schizoid the world isn't out to get him. Oh wait, that is the case. ::chuckles::

I see what you mean but the game is constantly changing and adapting to new things. Some of the GMs we have probably haven't touched their PC in years. So while they have walked in our shoes, they're not keeping up with the times. Observing isn't the same thing as doing, it may help but it isn't a cure-all for instant experience and empathy on how players are REALLY feeling.

She comes on trying to make 2 of my friends look bad. She lied. out right lied and fabricated a delusional story. I called her a liar. Summir called her a liar. But I did call them cowards for hiding behind screen names. I got a good guess who they are though. So before you come trying to stand on higher ground. You should get facts.

They only post to flame me. Especially Specto. Tell them to grow up. Not me. I told them what I thought about them. I was honest.

I will not remove their posts. I will answer them. But apparently you are one coming to flame me to.

Good try though. Trying to take their sides. But getting friends to come or making a new name is easy.

It is my job to keep this section alive. Which I do. I bring all the issues I got here. I post logs of things that happen. If I make a mistake I say so. I am not scared like some. If you don't like it. Then post your concerns.

Oh wait! You are absolutely happy with gemstone.

Ask Andraste what her favorite thing to do to me is.. I don't mind getting killed by a GM. I never complain about that. I did post a log of super mages killing me once. So try again. I do get mad when it's blatant favoritism. I didn't complain about the spinner. So try again. Read the thread and figure out what was said.

I am very sure this is the case. I heard a GM this summer at SimuCon talk about people doing mass spells in TSSW. How many years has it been the park?

Peace out reg

Well if a GM can't keep up with the times through observation and word of mouth through other GMs, then they aren't even a valued member of the staff and should be booted the hell out. Changes don't occur on a daily basis, its not that difficult to keep up with what is going on in the gemstone world especially when you have the ability to ask a fellow staff member specificially.

Mike

Zanagan/Zarosa reg

OK.. If you didn't stop referring to the same one line I posted, you'd see past that one quote and saw what the point of the message was. It had more to do with the fact of rampant accusing with favoritism than it was with your friends.

And no offense, I didn't embarrass your friends. Your friends already did that when they tried to defame someone else by implications just because the guy got chosen. I just pointed it out the opposing side; if that makes you mad/furious/psychotic/whatever, I've duly taken note of your point. Your friends are being better sports than you, and while I probably can't change their opinions in the way they think on favoritism, I can still have a good argument without you trying to go bonkers on everything that is said. And your job as moderator is to keep up a lively discussion in the concerns folder, that doesn't mean you're supposed to be THE ROOT OF ALL CONCERNS AND PROBLEMS. ::chuckles::

BTW, I don't need friends to stick up for me, I'm doing a fine job all by myself. The other agreeing posts are just icing on the cake.

How about we strike up a deal? After this post, you can ignore everything I post and I'll ignore everything you post. Sounds good to me.

GMs are hired for their abilities, whatever that may be, and they don't include gossiping as a requirement. You of all people should know that one of the biggest problems in GS is that the GMs don't communicate enough with each other. Word of the mouth isn't enough and it isn't the way to go. Though better communication would be great.

A GM can't possibly keep up or remember every single change and still be working on new ones. Hell, I don't even remember what the 420 change was about. It didn't involve me, and I don't remember. But when they play the game on a regular basis, they remember what's fun, challenging or just plain fustrating to players. It's only through playing the game that they can experience that with empathy.

And besides, I don't think it's right to make a GM give up their playing rights. What they do offduty is their business unless it involves abusing their abilities. I think there are probably regulations on that in their NDA to prevent these things anyway.

For the truly clueless among you...

GMs often can't bring their PCs to paid festivals, it's preferable instead to allow the tickets to be sold to players, instead of taking up the limited slots.

In the event they are allowed to attend, whether or not they know anything about items is immaterial. Buying 50 and selling them would be considered an abuse of their status.

--A. reg

>In my opinion no GM or anyone who works on the staff should even be allowed to play the product. The knowledge they attain to benefit their own characters is just unreal.

Actually, I'd argue the reverse.

Not playing the product makes you only see it from a conceptual basis, and not from a daily interaction basis.

Its one thing to say, "Hey, it would be cool to do this..." and not actually ever experience the change or how it affects the gaming enviroment.

You also cannot see long term character development changes. How a sorcerer with current abilities can thrive on X training path and then trying it on Y training path.

And finally, and most important of all, most everyone who is a GM is a player who really loves the game enough to become staff. Honestly, most GMs have so much work, they have little time at all to play.

Khaladon

ps- my total playing time since April is just over 10 hours :-) reg

I agree with you Khaladon. GM's are also players too so they should get an option of attending all events except ones they run themselves. Because that is not fair and they do get the same expierence but from a different angle that no one else does. Which in my oppinion that should be much better because no one else gets the expierence. And not to mention they have more to brag about. A GM than can say "I ran that event and I am proud of it" which you guys should be proud of all the work you do no matter how dirty or how glorious. But in my view any GM should get a chance to have there characters at events too. And of course everything is "Random" which I hope.
