Billing isn't open yet so I can't find out what happened, but I talked to GM Krylan through reports and he said he shows no record of a transfer from my account. Last time I had Methais logged in was about 12am CST this morning.

Nobody has my password or anything like that and I haven't downloaded any programs or anything that someone would be able to sniff out my password with.

So if anyone sees either Methais or any of his items, please send in a report immediately. Some of my most valued items are:

An engraved mithril pipe with a short cherry stem
A property deed (for my not-yet-built house in Solhaven)
A black silk bag
An acid stained alchemist's coat (w/show)

I'll post most later after I talk to billing.

I'm hoping it's an error in Simu's database though. I talked to Angellisa and she said something like that happend to one of her characters a few months ago and eventually it all got restored and was some files gone corrupt in Simu's computer or something like that.

I spoke with Krylan and Khaladon in-game with the other character on the same account. Krylan said there's no record of a character transfer, and I asked Khaladon to check for activity from my account since midnight last night and he didn't see any when he checked, so I'm really hoping something just went wrong in Simu's database and will be eventually fully restored.

Anyone else have something like this happen where it was an error with one of Simu's computers?

Oh well, hopefully it doesn't happen again. I'm gonna go make a big long 500 million character password now :P reg

I can understand if there is a computer glitch, or something, and some characters get lost in the shuffle. As long as everything is restored... no harm, no foul. I hope that staff would admit that those kinds of things happen, and not place blame on something else... such as a password/account has been "hacked".

I remember I wanted to combine all my accounts on one CC but couldn't since the website only allows one account per CC, so I e-mailed billing to have them do it because my long distance was cut off for a few days so I couldn't call them. Well anyways, I couldn't go around giving her my CC info through e-mail so she set up a time that she could call me instead. I thought that was pretty cool.

Well to be honest, I don't really even think I was hacked. It would have been much easier to just check in at the inn and retire me.

My guess (and just a guess) is that Methais was just another victim (disgegard the Tazz cliche) to that "character corruption" thing or whatever the hell they're calling it. reg

Here are two possible scenarios. First, it could be someone you know who wants to destroy your character. Is your password stored on your computer? Would any family/friends/acquaintances have access to your computer and want to delete your character for whatever reason?

Second, a malicious hacker who has gained access to your computer through a Trojan Horse could simply be trying to cause problems for you.

Have you asked Simu the IP address from which your character was deleted? That could be very useful information for making sense of this mystery.

Hmm. Well unless there's a way to force a download on me, then I didn't have a trojan horse. Only people I DL stuff from are people I know I can trust and I know how to spot most viruses, unless like I said before, if there's some way to force a download on my PC without me even knowing about it. I updated my virus stuff yesterday and scanned everything and nothing showed up.

I didn't think of that. I'll write billing and see if I can find that out.

Chances are good the person would have plenty of deeds, and when someone dies over and over and over that gets attention, people fog in, then people see you sign hopelessness in front of them, and the poohbah strips your powers for an hour, then you have nothing to do... plus there's like 10 seconds from the time you do it, to the time you depart, believe me... if you were sitting there, and
