Where is enchanting?

How long has enchanting been gone now?

Why did they take it away from use in the first place without a system to replace it?

Well. They kept saying they had a system to put in. But never has actually been implemented.

My theory is this. They screwed over everyone in the lands because 2 private workshops got into merchant hands. I said. Enchanting will be gone within a month when that happened. Yep. It was gone in 2 weeks of the workshops changing hands.

Now. What I just can't for the life of me understand is. Why didn't they just make all workshops public or shut down the private\house workshops that was being abused.

They instead just ruined enchanting totally.

I don't understand why they ruin something in the lands that benifited everyone in some way. That gave people enjoyment. People use to get so excited about getting a item enchanted. They could customize something and have it made into what they dreamed of.

This change was unfair to the lands. It made the lands less enjoyable. Plus, now with the threat of breakage coming with no enchant to follow it. Great planning.

Tough subject Edge.

Of course I agree with you on this one. Enchanting was fine in my opinion. Who cares if some people were getting rich than others? It never bothered me.

I _do_ agree with you on the notion that merchants acquired workshops and that was the main reason for changing things.

Before the new infusing change was made (not allowing extra mana to be thrown into each infusion whenever you had extra mana sharing), who didn't have a wizard they could ask for enchanting? It wasn't very hard.

What's the chance of getting a 10x made today? Absolutely 0%.

I used to be accustomed to asking either Dizman/Sraven/Savannaah to infuse things for me (being as they all had huge amounts of mana sharing). I just brought in my wizard and did some enchanting after they were finished.

It was fun being able to see Dissipate set himself up a 7x pool all alone.

Those days are gone.

People complain.

It just bothers me to no end.

People whine and complain that things aren't fair...then when things _are_ changed...they contradict themselves and complain that it never should've been changed.

A lot of things in life come to one question in my opinion that is very relative to this subject:

Why did we change anything? reg

why did we change anything?...

So the plat people can see just how good it can be, heh.

Well I agree also. People complained about others getting rich on enchanting but they had no problem paying it when they wanted something done. And enchanting wasn't such an easy task, it took a lot of time regardless of share or folks helping. I think they should have left it alone until a new system was in place. Now the prices of higher enchanted items are outrageous so basically some people are still getting rich, regardless of the changes.

The problem I see with the taking away enchanting, is that the merchants seem to wind up with the money, instead of other players. Which is fine, if you get what you pay for. Some of these shops, as in what were in the airship, weren't very clear on was they were selling, on enchants or anything. And by the price one would figure that it would be atleast compareable. Casting leathers sold on the airship were very costly and were not 4x's enchanted, padded or whatever. I know, buyer beware. I can expect that from a Wizard selling a weapon or a shield, but a game sponsored event, Ack. They need to be more clear in there description of items. Point being, if I had bought those casting leathers from a wizard (Player), I would bet that they were 4x's or I could atleast have asked. I also don't feel the price has gotten any cheaper either. Merchant charge the same if not more than the enchanted stuff. My opinion, bring back enchanting. reg
Kind of like a merchant in Icemule a year or 2 ago...I bought some rolaren chain mail for 500k. Yes it was 4x, but it was also double chain. If I buy chain mail, I expect it to be chain mail, not double chain <mutter> reg
