Just a quick question

Wasnt sure where to ask this, but I picked up a cloak a few days ago, and, correct me if Im wrong, but I thought cloathing wasnt assessable. But when I look at said cloak, I see its got a 10/230 breakage, and when assessing, I get this message...

You examine the cloak closely and you don't note anything, aside from the fact that it would be classified as not even armor, and isn't really armor. It doesn't protect at all

It doesnt wear in the armor slot, and Im not sure what to make of it.

Any ideas?

It looks like they've implemented the initial emits for breakage of clothing.

I thought Melissa mentioned inone of her posts that this would happen eventually, but I could be mistaken. I doubt it's fully implemented or even on the "RSN" list, but it does look like the assess verb has been added to clothes now.

A cloak should not have breakage...

Try looking at it, I doubt it's a DB item, but check to see if it has an enchanters mark. You never know.

DB items will receive STR/DUR numbers.

No enchanters mark. Found it on one of the critters in the graveyard invasion. Maybe it will help keep daggers outa my back. Or, least one can hope

Naw, some clothing has it, some doesn't. I have a pair of boots that show breakage, and another pair that doesn't. Dunno what's up with it, but some items it seem were created with Str/du numbers in them, and other weren't. reg
This happens with some "junk" items. I found a cloak in a box once and had the same experience. Thought I got lucky and found a DB item or something but after testing it in every way possible (assess, loresong, AI crystal and anything else I could think of), it just turned out to be junk.

Edgeleaf stumbled across something like that too. He probably remembers what happened with his better than I do with mine. reg

I enchanted mine.

Even though it assessed as armor it gave me no bonus. Another bug in the game they would rather not fix I guess.

Hell the GM couldn't figure it out. I enchanted it. Then got it out to play with a year later and the enchanter's mark wasn't there anymore. But the enchant is. All the GM kept saying you might want to play with it more. But didn't know why the enchant went away.

I gave up on trying to solve it. Might sell it someday, but I hold onto junk like that forever.
