No more boulder?

Although i quit a few weeks ago, my concern for the boulder hasn't changed, I went to Tarhen's dueling site today and found this...

amb solk left leg
You leap from hiding to attack!
You swing an pearl hilted vultite falchion at Solkern!
AS: +323 vs DS: +140 with AvD: +27 + d100 roll: +96 = +306
... and hit for 92 points of damage!
Powerful slash!
Solkern's left leg is severed at the knee!

* Solkern drops dead at your feet!
The brilliant aura fades away from Solkern.
Solkern appears less confident.
The powerful look leaves Solkern.
The dim aura fades from around Solkern.
The guiding force leaves you.

Suddenly there is an uproar, with people screaming, "Murderer! Quickly, someone call for the constable!"
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Then someone else posted this which happened an hour later

You swing a basket-hilted vultite backsword at Loranzo!
AS: +334 vs DS: +73 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +99 = +394
... and hit for 121 points of damage!
Deft slash!
Loranzo is spun around and hit hard in his lower back.

* Loranzo drops dead at your feet!

Loranzo appears calmer.
The guiding force leaves you.
Suddenly there is an uproar, with people screaming, "Murderer! Quickly, someone call for the constable!"
Roundtime: 20 sec.

The person put in a refer but his que hasn't moved in a few hours. I doubt this is a bug, how does it just change one day after years and years of being the same? I think the GMs are just trying to screw us over yet AGAIN. In my opinon the simple fact that you get arrested more than one room outside town is OOC, and making the boulder a constable watched spot is even more stupid. Seems the GMs do whatever they want these days. Of course everyone is going to fight this (and probably loose because the GMs don't care what we think or want) or people are just goint to move the dueling spot to another place. I wouldn't be surprised if Andraste had something to do with this, she never liked the boulder, before leaving Balstraud (who also left) and I made numberous requests to talk to her about changing, and helping the boulder to stop all pointless killing, we asked and asked to be pulled up so we could tell her our ideas, and she didn't guess she didn't want to hear our ideas eh?

Sure looks like this new change will do that, no?

Just BUG it in-game. It's likely that a coder somewhere accidentally changed settings.

(p.s. How old are these logs?) reg

These logs are from today, and no this change will not stop anything, it will only make people move to another spot, it's not solving any problems. reg
Brauden just posted that it was a bug, and will be fixed shortly.

Y'all can go back to "owning" each other and declaring how "weak" everyone in that massive RP locality is.

This was not an error, it should not be fixed.... In fact, if the constable made good timing on his 'Come along peacefully or we'll hang ya right here!' threat, and started executing people who killed others up on that cursed hunk of rock, elanthia would be a better place...

-goyle... Who forages there sometimes, and has even had to exert bodily force to do so on occasion... apparantly kneeling empaths give consent to CvC just by existing up there.

Let's all head to the other boulder then. And if not that one, then how about the one other than that? Heck, or even the tree.

Same as every other change, one line of code at a time. Now my opinion is that this is just a bug, which will be fixed. Even though, the closing of a dueling area has been done before (They closed down the buoy because it was too close to town and innocents were wandering in and getting hurt), however, the reasoning used doesn’t seem to fit with the boulder.

I would have to disagree, there have been many examples throughout history of law enforcement occurring outside of major towns. The Robin Hood tales being the most famous example I could cite. So having the law patrol a certain trouble spot (whether it be a forest or in this case a boulder), would seem, in my opinion, well within character of a fantasy world.

Personally, I think opening the Arena year ‘round would solve this issue. It would give those who wish to battle each other a sanctioned location, and if done properly, it could also help get rid of some of the vast amount of coins floating around the lands. Charge people to watch, charge people even more to fight, and take 5% of all wagers for the house. At that point you make all killing of PC’s outside of the arena, a punishable offense by the constable.

And as a side note, from everything I have heard or read from Andraste on the subject of dueling, it seems to me that she does not mind dueling as much as the utter lack of Rp’ing shown by those who chose to do the duels. Not that I am trying to speak for Andraste, it is just my personal observation.

Well... it was a bug.

I noticed the whole constable system was going whack myself.

I had my character killed in town and the constable was oblivious to it, but he was arresting people at the boulder.

In anycase, the bug is fixed. No GM screwed over anyone else, and everyone can go back to killing each other atop the rock.

Heh,
I was going to make my own comment but I think yours stated my own sentiments perfectly. reg
