When you think about it in a sort of abstract way..

Buying coins and items is almost like subscribing to premium. You get things faster or neater then just the common joe. Each one requires you to spend more money on the game then the basic account. And sometimes as a premium account holder I would get multiple items in a month.

Buying characters on the other hand...

I have no problems purchasing a character in a certain age range because I might want to try that profession out. For me with the number of characters I did have it usually took me about 3 weeks to level the main one and about a month to level 1-2 more of them. So I was paying a large amount of money for the enjoyment of having these characters, and also I didn't have the time to say train up a straight forward Sorc to legend. It saved me the 2 years it would have taken me and the 240$ I would have spent on just the accounts, I paid say 300$ for the character and just paid a couple months after that to test it out.

I don't think character "farming" is a good thing, and I don't think buying and selling items just because you "can" and you want to screw up the economy worse then it is would be a good thing.

But overall I have found that its much more enjoyable for me going to work and putting in an extra hour or three and go home and buy that 1m silver or item for cash, and use it right away.

But of course thats just me.

04:07 PMMyself, I wouldn't do it, I'm not about to spend that much money on a game, and I like to earn things myself.

That said, I have a slight issue with both item and character sales, but not much of one with the sale of silvers.

Item sales annoy me because the better weapons, armor and such usually/eventually reach the "only obtainable through $" level; I'd like to be able to get one through my hard work in game.

Character sales bother me when I either knew the character sold and the buyer can't account for his sudden loss of memory or when an übercharacter is sold to a snert/someone who has no idea what he is doing. reg

When I realized I had 20 grand worth of wealth in the lands I couldn't justify keeping it.

Just think about it. Someone offers you 2100 bucks for a item of yours. Could you NOT sell it?

If you got paid McDonalds wages and could create a item that you could sell for 2 grand easy. Would you? That is a whole other topic.
