Gemstone: The Fallen....(?)

01:16 PMSince ya'll aren't privy to the info that spins through the dragonrealms world much... I thought i'd clue ya in on something...

And since we all know good things are tested in dragonrealms, and find their way to gemstone afterwards <forging, 'soul bonding' with 308 before raising, an assload of verbs (some of which have come into DR from GS, i'll admit), items that cover features (they sell em in stores there for a hefty sum, but not like the 600 million you can get for em here, heh)>... I thought i'd mention this to you...

Dragonrealms has taken a survey on, and approved, the creation of a new realm, called 'The Fallen'... In this realm <which will have a small extra cost per month, it's been suggested around 3-5 bucks, could be a lil more>, there are no rules... <they should make it 18+>.. Basicly, if you hack accounts, yer out, if you abuse bugs, yer out... Everything else? Have a good time.. Sounds fun, huh?

After the recent conversations about the Vishmiir, and the idiot actings of the boulderites and their oocness...

Can Gemstone:The Fallen be very far behind?... Immagine it... fog to someone, blast them to cinders, laugh and run off, just because you feel like it?... Talk in your l33t dEWdspeek... And most importantly...

03:11 PMThe only way that would work is if simultaneously an incredibly strict RP police was enstated in the normal game, giving people warnings for OOC, not just reprimands. Also, given the power masturbation that many of the l33t d00d2 are fixated on, they'd also have to allow for character transfers there, but never allow character transfers back.

I'm 100% for it to occur. Given the above stipulations.

I'd just walk in there and meteor swarm and fire storm 24/7.

It would be absolute chaos. Think of all the open implosions, meteor swarms, fire storms, call lightnings, tremors, quakes, e-waves would happen.

Seriously I would anticipate people just walking around rapid fire e-waving everywhere they went for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

But why not have this? Have the entrance in all towns.

Got a problem?! Want to kill each other? Go there and solve it. Now one thing I think should not be allowed. Is deeding. That is game mechanics abuse..PERIOD. Everyone should have a chance to at least run.

09:06 AMThis sounds like a GREAT idea... A different server with no rules except against things like hacking, no game balance to worry about so you could sell stuff like fel hafters, forest green brig, elemental bows, padded plate, etc in permanent stores. They could make it where you can only transfer a character from GS prime permanently or start a new character.

I know I'd at least make a new character on there if not transfer one or two of my current ones.

Gemstone's system doesn't support something like this... Combat is laughable... It boils down to who can input the other guy's name under an attack skill first... Or, should that be pretyped, who can hammer the macro key fast enough..

DR has an intricate combat system, which (well, unless you were getting sniped from hiding) doesn't support instant click death... Kranar made a good point, if GS The Fallen came out... Wizards spellstoring boil, walking around invisible....

This is such an old idea.

I believe Commandant brought it up at a San Francisco gathering once. Different 'levels' of Gemstone for the non-roleplaying power hunters, roleplayers, and the strict roleplayers.

Sort of letting the community sift itself out.

But his idea was more of a punishment tool rather than one that cost more money.
