Confusing Questions

I am wanting to make a halfling bard before the mangler gets changed around. I have some of that halfling vultite chain shirt lying around and want to know how much training in armor use will i need until i can use it and have the least amount of spell hinderance? Is doubling armor for a bard really dumb? That is all for now until i think of more.

Good question, I bet someone around here knows the answer, but if not I'll have to look it up.

As for the doubling in armor it is a very expensive way to go, I'd rather put those training points to better use, like picking or ambushing or something. At 15 physical for both, doubling in armor didn't make sense to me. reg
Don't know what the chain shirt, but it its augmented or double chain equivalent thats 90 ranks in armor, if its hauberk its all the way up to 150. I think regular mail is just 50. So, it could take till level 150 singling, and thats a long while to wait. Even 90 is quite a while. 50 isnt bad, so if its regular mail you should be fine.

I have done some reading and now have a few more questions. Spellsong renewals dont have to worry about armor spell hinderance correct? And most minor elemental spells are defensive and can be cast inside of town, this is correct also right? If so i think once i can get most of the swinging rt penalties off the spell hinderance is something i can live with until i get more trained or have to hunt older critters that i will need to lullabye or elemental strike i think. Thanks for the responces so far

PS: Why is the spot on the posts where you put your user name so huge? It makes it harder to post. Is anyones name really that long or is that just how the software works for the new UBB?

Whoa, i must of been in a hurry, my response hardly made sense to me even though im the one who wrote it. This is what it should have said:

Don't know what a chain shirt is, but if its augmented or double chain equivalent then it will take 90 ranks in armor to train off hindrance, if its hauberk its all the way up to 150. I think regular mail is just 50 ranks. So, it could take till level 150 single training , and thats a long while to wait. Even 90 is quite a while. 50 isnt bad, so if its regular mail you should be fine.

Also , for stricly RT , the ranks are:

Chain: 40
Double: 60
Augmented: 60
Hauberk: 80

This is without ref and dex bonus.

No hinderence on renewal, most minor elementals that you'll use are defense and are town friendly, what 'lood said.

Perfect and thanks all! Thats the info and numbers i was hoping for.

I think im gonna try to come as close to doubling armor as i can. Which is at the moment 1.5x but as soon as i get some growth ill throw it in armor. Eventually i can cut down to singling and ill try to stuff those into the second rank of CM i think or maybe learn to pick. I just want heavy armor and spells and then if Semidux ever comes out i should be sitting pretty
