Future Instruments?

05:10 PMThere's been a bit of talk about future instruments on the boards. What's been said is that basically all the other bard issues (bugs, spellsongs, mana problems) have been put way before them, but new instrument classes are still planned albeit on the backburner. I was curious what types of instruments you all would like to see.

A given is drums\percussions. Any others any would really like to see?

Accordians would be funny to see too. I'm not sure how period it would be to have, and they are technically wind instruments.

I have a pet peeve though. When people talk and sing while playing an instrument that requires the mouth, like the piccolo, flute and so forth. It should be fixed so that when you try to talk or sing something it says, "You can't do that right now." or something to that effect. It doesn't seem logical that you're going to pull away from your instrument to utter a few words then go back to the string of music.

Sorry.. I strayed. It would also be nice to have a music room somewhere, perhaps as a back room in the music shop and have permanent larger instruments like harpsichords that you can play only when you're inside. Then you can hold concerts in a room specially made for music. reg

Well you DO pluck a harp and strum the other neck-stringed instruments, so I can see some of the messaging conflicting. It's kinda like the problem with those pan flutes, they discontinued their creation because you don't play them like you do a regular flute.

I fully agree with your idea on the talking while playing a woodwind or horn.

Not too keen on the accordian, but I do agree with the play-room thing. I believe the Bard Guild in Ta'Illistim has a Theater attached to it, so maybe that'll have what you're thinking as well.
