The Players Corner Archive

Something to write home about.

So everyone else has posted a welcome message for their profession folder...

Guess that means I have to also =).

So this is a topic about rangers and our toilsome lives, heh. Should rangers join voln or CoL? When are we getting animal companions? Ranger guild? Unnoficial Ranger Guild? New spells? Everything is fair game. I'm not a tough moderator, but I'm fair, so keep the cursing, religous and ethnic slurs out of this section (as well as the rest of the board) and we will be cool.

Well, I'll get back on my soap box, though I'm not going to gripe TOO much..but...

I'm kind of disappointed with the ranger guild..I spent a lot of time and energy looking for that place (stood up til well after 3am when I had to get up at 7 for work that same morning..not that I can totally blame it all on trying to find the Ranger guild..I'm sure the 15 billion glasses of Pepsi One and random insomnia fit had something to do with it..hee) mixed with the long anticipation of there finally being a guild for Rangers (a good couple of years now actually) to see not one single solitary skill listed for rangers to train in, not to mention being told after I paid my membership fee that if I wanted to start training, I had to *join* the guild (that's just a bug though they say)

I was very disappointed having gone through all of that (it was a mini quest for a few rangers from different towns to find the guild halls) just to have a place to look around..however I suppose it is a good sign, letting us know that ATLEAST there really is a ranger guild and they are working on it. Be thankful for small miracles : )

Anyone else out there have any word on when there will be skills that we can start training in and such?

They've been saying over and over again that the new guilds will be released without skills, so it ought not come as a surprise. reg
Shows you how much I've read the boards, etc..heh

In all honesty, I hadn't heard anything like that. I didn't know the guilds would be opened without skills and all of that. From the reaction I've heard in game, most people I've spoken with didn't. I still wish they would have had some skills there for us. I just read another post elsewhere actually where one of the GMs apparently stated that skills for all the guilds (save Warrior and Rogue) won't be out for quite some time. It's going to take a lot of time, work and their resources to make the skills, so basically it looks like this was just a way of placating us other professions. reg

Rogue and Warrior guilds were used as a way to balance the profession.

All the other guilds are almoste solely for RP purposeses.

Therefore, guild skills are not the first priority of simu. Something that

A. Takes alot of manhours to implement.
B. Serves mostly to the small RP base of total customers.
C. Does not effect game mechanics, or fixed prior game mechanics errors, as the higher prioirity stuff does.

What you have now is a place where your profession can meet and spark RP and hunting groups, can hold meetings etc.

Noting simus prior track record for implamentation, I would be happy with what ya got.

One of my characters is a Ranger and I have to say a) I actually found the Landing guild and b) think it looks great. All them trees , woodland and stuff , bit cliched maybe but still pretty neat. I dunno why so many folks expected skills to be available as I have known for some while that they wouldnt be ;;shrug;; Perhaps more folks should read these boards
