Rangers, Theives?!?

For those of you who read ranger guides, almost all of them advise you to at least consider training in pickpocketing, wouldn't you agree? They say that no one will suspect the innocent looking ranger. While this used to be true, in my own exp. when I realize I've been robbed I first look for rogues, then rangers, and the clerics. I know their must be an empath or two making a killing and no one suspecting a thing. Anyone think I'm a bit jaded against rangers? Any ranger theives have a comment?

No one would suspect a ranger... no one.

My ranger currently has 47 ranks in pick pockets, but got a late late start on training in the skill. Regardless, he is still quite successful at theft.

Far as who to look for when you've been robbed.. I'd rank rogues, bards, empaths, rangers, warriors, clerics, wizards, sorks from highest probability to lowest.

Personally, I don't know if I'd train any further than I have in pick-pocketing, due to my character's nature..She wouldn't think of stealing from someone (unless she was playing around, and she'd get caught anyway.) But it's true..there have been quite a few times I have been stolen from on Teras, and the first thing I look for of course are rogues..then someone I know who has a shady reputation..or looks shady. However if I had to judge based on profession..Rangers would be one of the last I'd suspect..which if you think about it doesn't make much sense considering their ability to hide and such.

Hiding has nothing to do with it, whenever I am thievin on a rogue, I do it from the open, folks always suspect the person hiding and unhiding every couple seconds. I think the reason they should be suspected more is they can double in the skill.

Yessss but....if I were a thieving ranger...or a thieving anything..I'd probably try to be hidden when I'm going to steal...when people first realize something's missing and it's been stolen, the first thing they normally do (or I do atleast) is have a look around the room and see who's around me... reg
