My level 9 Rogue

Hey folks... I've got a few questions about my new character. I created a new rogue, hoping to fix all the mistakes I made with my old one. I chose a sylvan, simply because I liked the way I was able to place my stats from the beginning, while still keeping growth in mind. Here are his stats at level 9:

Currently Stat Bonus
Constitution (CO): 62 .... 6
Dexterity (DE): 66 .... 13
Discipline (DI): 89 .... 14
Logic (LO): 61 .... 5
Intelligence (IN): 61 .... 5
Strength (ST): 83 .... 16
Reflexes (RE): 60 .... 10
Charisma (CH): 54 .... 7
Wisdom (WI): 97 .... 23
Aura (AU): 90 .... 25
Mana: 23 Silver:

As far as training goes, I've done as follows so far:
XXXXX (at level 9), your skill bonuses and ranks are:
Skill Bonus Rank
-------------------------------------------------------------
Armor Use : 90 [20]
Shield Use : 50 [10]
Combat Maneuvers : 50 [10]
Edged Weapons : 90 [20]
Climbing : 25 [5]
Swimming : 25 [5]
Disarm Traps : 50 [10]
Pick Locks : 50 [10]
Stalking & Hiding : 90 [20]
Perception : 50 [10]
Mana Sharing : 15 [3]
Ambush : 90 [20]
Physical Training : 50 [10]
Picking Pockets : 50 [10]
Brawling : 90 [20]
Mental Training Points : 5

I intend to continue doubling armor until I train off the hauberk penalty, then start doubling CM. He's a Volner, and I use the brawling for a second form of attack whenever I run out of a bless. I intend to take his share all the way up to 102 skill, and get spells 401-404 to aid in his picking. As I figure, on a training plan basically similar to what I follow now, I'll have 47% redux at level 50.

Anyways... just wanted to see what you guys think. Any comments, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Good looking rogue. He's not perfect by any measure of the word, but he's better than 98% of the other rogues out there. I'd try to 2x CM if I could though.

Doubling CM just isn't feasible if I'm going to double brawling with my current training plan. I haven't had any difficulties yet as a result; no problems ambushing, and no problems with maneuver attacks.

My previous rogue was less than singled, and he was still entirely feasible... I just had to watch my encumbrance and not wear a ton of fluff.

The only downside I see now is a negligbile bonus to my attack/defense strength, which will partially be made up for whenever I do start doubling.

((Edited for clarity.))

Actually that is a very good rogue. I agree he will be better than the 98 percentile. I have never like sylvankind, but it is a good choice since you will be a picker. Also since rogue are naturally blessed in strength you placed that very well and it makes up for being sylvankind when you do voln. Voln fu is one of the greatest abilities you can become when a rogue is dedicated towards picking. Redux are so great but since you are training for haubrek your redux should be good enough. Looks like he will be very good so keep us updated.

Could you clarify this a bit? I'm not sure I follow what you mean. The rogue isn't dedicated to picking by any means... I only single to allow myself to open *some* of the boxes that I find. I realize that I won't be as adept as a tripler, but hey... there aren't many triplers who can Fu.

I think he's referencing this it field picking. Brawling/picking really is not a combo that should be thought of as having to go togther. It's just as easy to put your box in your cloak, goto a safe area and pick it there.

Just for clarity that is what I meant. Just couldn't think of the words. Field picking is great when your not a giantman or dwarf. Allows yahs to hunt for much more longer than the average player.

To tell you the truth, I hadn't even thought about field picking when I trained him in brawling. Thanks for clearing that up.

Just curious, but I don't suppose anyone would happen to have all the new information about lockpicks, would they? I'm really looking for the original charts that tell what picks can be used with what level of training, and such.

If anyone has this information or can give me a link to it, I'd greatly appreciate it.
