Rogue Stats/Training

So with the new system... What do you all think is the best stat allocation and placement for a rogue? And training?

I'm trying to make one that doubles in picking and will have spells to 404 and can hunt well. I made a new rogue in plat, but I just don't like her. reg

There are only two races I would suggest for a rogue. They aren't being put forth as perfect choices, just my own personal favorites for many reasons, none of which are for RPing purposes. You can RP any race..

Half-elf Rogue - Maxs before 120

Constitution (CO): 68
*Dexterity (DE): 20
Discipline (DI): 74
Logic (LO): 68
Intelligence (IN): 68
Strength (ST): 65
*Reflexes (RE): 20
Charisma (CH): 65
Wisdom (WI): 86
Aura (AU): 86

Human Rogue - Maxs before 120
Constitution (CO): 65
*Dexterity (DE): 22
Discipline (DI): 68
Logic (LO): 68
Intelligence (IN): 65
Strength (ST): 65
*Reflexes (RE): 22
Charisma (CH): 68
Wisdom (WI): 86
Aura (AU): 91

The stats with an asteric get a professional bonus.

As for training.. You will get 35/44 TP's to start with for both races/placements.

Will post more later about training plans unless someone beats me to it. reg

Yep given the new system that looks really solid and without doing the spreadsheet/analysis on training points actually used over time they look good.

Remember training points when younger mean ranks you don't miss. You can't make up ranks in some areas. I don't care how many TP's you have down the line.

So looking at the placement and the typical growth rates those nums look really good.

Hiway reg

Cool, thanks. reg
Dis do B a copi of de e-male I cent to sum body who ask'd bout trainin a rangd rogue.

Since no one else was interested in posting about the training.. Im hoping someone will help critique my training plans. Find the holes and the mis-information. Would hate to tell someone the wrong way to train.

First off, I have never played a ranged weapon user, so anything I tell you has the possibility of being total BS. I am just saying what I would do if I made one.. Which means I've done no testing on how it would work out.. and if you follow my suggestions completely you may wind up rerolling. It'd be good if you could find out(if you don't already know), whether or not some things help with ranged users, like ambush..

Another thing to consider will be that your dexterity statistic, not your strength will determine your AS with a ranged weapon. Your Dexterity will be starting out with a 32 stat.. a -4 bonus or something like that I beleive. It grows rather fast, but at a young age you'll have a bit more trouble. Although crossbows give a 50 bonus when kneeling, or lying down. And most creatures have a lower arrow/bolt DS than sword DS.

Human Rogue - Maxs before 120
Constitution (CO): 65

Charisma (CH): 68
Wisdom (WI): 86
Aura (AU): 91

3/0 -----1x Armor
3/0 -----1x Shield
12/15 ---2x Cm
9/3 -----2x Edged
15/3 ----2x Ranged
2/0.5 ---1x Climb/Swim - Alternate
3/3 -----2x Disarming Traps
3/3 -----2x Picking Locks
7/7 -----3x Stalking and Hiding
0/1 -----1x Perception
-- Mana share is something you'll probably want so you can send for spells.. Get it anytime you can.. I'd also go for redux, not spells. You might want scroll or magic item use though
3/6 -----2x Ambush
3/0 -----1x Physical

63/41.5

I'd like to suggest something like the above training plan.. but its impossible to start out with. I don't think CM helps any with Ranged weapons, but I suggested CM and Edged so you could have an alternate way of hunting.. Those are something you could cut out. Picking and disarming are something you don't neccessarily have to have. I would definatly suggest tripling stalking and hiding, so you can stay hidden when firing your bow/crossbow. Ambush was something I was suggesting along with CM and edged.
I have no idea if it helps with ranged weapons.

So to downsize a bit.. you'll have a pretty hard time.
I might do something like this..

9/0 -----2x Armor - Get into heavier armor fast so ya can take hits
3/0 -----1x shield
15/3 ----2x Ranged
2.5/0 ---0.5x Climb/Swim
7/7 -----3x Stalking and Hiding
0/1 -----1x Perception
3/0 -----1x Physical

39.5/11

This will leave alot of room for personal development, getting scroll, MIU, or mana share without wasting too many TPs (trading mental for physical isn't something Id suggest).

You might also think about singling in CM even if it doesn't help with your ranged weapons.

I'd definitely single cm, and single or double in brawling. Plus, you'll need to double ambush and either double or triple perception to be good at aiming.

Why brawling? I thought it only helped if your right hand was open.. Doesnt a bow or crossbow go in the right hand?

And is it ambush or perception or both that help with the aiming? reg

You hold a bow/crossbow in your left hand, load the ammo with your right. Both ambush and perception help with aiming. Preferable to be tripled in perception and doubled in ambush. I'll come up with some type of training plan later on, gotta make some quesadilla's and watch harry potter right now.
