Is it still possible to steal stuff from racks or counters? If so how many ranks of stealing do you need? reg
Stealing from merchants
Ya know.. alot of thieves WISHED we ::coughs:: they, I mean they could thieve from merchants, but we.. ::coughs:: THEY can't.. yet. 
You can, however, steal from the grocers since his stuff is on the counter than through an order system. Tehee! I'm really not sure if there's others you can steal from.. that's the only one I've seen accounts from.
You gotta be good though. I'd say about 10-15 ranks? Not sure but I'd ::coughs:: damn.. you should have plenty before stealing the croissant that could cost you more than it's worth. reg
Wasn't there a time where you could pocket stuff in the boutique and sell it to the pawnshop? Oh well, I guess Siefer won't go hungry from now on. reg
The boutique? Not that I know of. A couple of people roleplayed stealing something there once, but I don't think they actually were able to take anything.

It was a while ago, but I've seen people steal from that weapon tent that is outside of North Gate.
And I have heard stories of weapons stolen from the Boutique. Of course, I tried it and spent the night in jail with my cell-mate, Bubba... it was grand fun!
This may be common knowledge, and not the great secret that I thought it was, but... at one of the pay-events, I tried to steal from the Sweat-shop Merchant and he threw me in some dungeon on the Spitfire (and the Spitfire wasn't even in town at the time!). I spent the rest of the night exploring the ship and shopping to my heart's content. No crowds, no shoving, no unnecessary noise... of course, no alter merchants either, but it was still fun, until I ran out of silvers!

I have stolen from merchants before, course it is my secret on who I stole from. However I would say that I get caught 8 times out of ten with 50 ranks in pickpockets. Friend of mine gets caught 6 out of ten with around 70 ranks.
I was always told don't even try to steal from merchants unless you have 50 or more ranks.

Boutigue was possible. My friend did it often. But the gms were able to notice. so if you did it alot and were making alot of cash theyd just catch you to piss you off. Other then that i dont know...ive heard you can from traveling merchants but not through the ORDER merchants.
